QUARTERBACK CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 14 - Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Lamar Jackson, BAL at BUF
FanDuel = $9,000
DraftKings = $7,400

One of the marquee matchups of Week 13 was the Ravens taking on the 49ers. Jackson had one of his worst passing games of the season against the tough 49ers’ defense, throwing for only 105 yards and a touchdown. However, he once again dominated on the ground, rushing 16 times for 101 yards and a touchdown. It’s his ability to contribute in both areas that leaves him with such a high floor and as a viable option despite facing another tough defensive team in the Bills.

Kirk Cousins, MIN vs. DET
FanDuel = $8,200
DraftKings = $6,700

Despite not having Adam Thielen (hamstring) at his disposal against the Seahawks on Monday night, Cousins still managed to throw for 276 yards and two touchdowns. He’s now thrown at least two touchdowns in four straight games, leaving him with 23 for the season compared to just four interceptions. The Lions have allowed the third-most passing yards per game in the league, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Cousins torched them for 338 yards and four touchdowns earlier this season. Even if Thielen is forced to sit again, this matchup is so much in Cousins’ favor that he could be one of the safer options on the slate.

QUARTERBACK GPP TARGETS

Ryan Fitzpatrick, MIA at NYJ
FanDuel = $7,400
DraftKings = $6,000

Don’t look now, but Fitzpatrick has helped the Dolphins win three of their last five games. One of those wins came against the Jets when he threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Fitzpatrick is dangerous whenever he steps onto the field and the Dolphins’ defensive woes often force him to throw the ball a lot to keep up. The Jets could be without star safety Jamal Adams (ankle) for this matchup, which would really be a boost for Fitzpatrick. Don’t be surprised if he’s productive in this rematch, as well.

Devlin Hodges, PIT at ARI
FanDuel = $7,000
DraftKings = $5,900

After coming on in relief of Mason Rudolph in Week 12, Hodges was named the starting quarterback for last week’s bout with the Browns. While he wasn’t overly impressive, he finished with 212 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception while showing an ability to throw the ball deep. The Cardinals have allowed both the most passing yards per game and the most passing touchdowns, so if there was ever a time to take a chance on Hodges in tournament play, this might be it.

RUNNING BACK CASH TARGETS

Christian McCaffrey, CAR at ATL
FanDuel = $11,000
DraftKings = $10,300

The Panthers are in a free-fall. They’ve lost four games in a row, which included a defeat at the hands of the lowly Redskins last week. McCaffrey had a quiet performance by his standards, but he still finished with 102 total yards. He received a whopping 13 targets in the passing game, catching seven of them along the way. The last time he faced the Falcons, he caught 11 of 14 targets for 121 yards. While priced extremely high, no player at any position has as high of a floor as McCaffrey does.

Derrick Henry, TEN at OAK
FanDuel = $9,100
DraftKings = $8,200

Henry is on some hot streak right now. He’s rushed for at least 149 yards and a touchdown in three straight games and has six touchdowns across his last four contests. We might only be in Week 14, but Henry has already set career-highs in rushing attempts (232) and rushing yards (1,140). With that type of workload, he’s a great safe option to deploy in cash contests.

RUNNING BACK GPP TARGETS

Le’Veon Bell, NYJ vs. MIA
FanDuel = $7,300
DraftKings = $7,200

Bell was bottled up on the ground by the Bengals, of all teams, turning 10 carries into 32 yards last week. With the Bengals allowing the most rushing yards per game, that just goes to show how bad the Jets’ offensive line has been. He’ll have another opportunity to be productive against the Dolphins, who have allowed the second-most rushing yards per game. Even if Bell struggles again on the ground, he should be heavily involved in the passing game. He certainly was the first time these two teams met this season, catching eight of nine targets for 55 yards. UPDATE: Bell has been ruled out due to injury, potentially making Bilal Powell a cheap option to target since he has the potential to receive the majority of the work out of the backfield.

Devonta Freeman, ATL vs. CAR
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $5,400

Freeman recently missed a couple of games with a foot injury, but he made his return against the Saints on Thanksgiving. It was very encouraging to see him receive 17 carries and five targets in his first game back, so look for him to deployed as normal moving forward. That could mean a big performance is in the cards against a Panthers team that has been torched on the ground, allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game and a stunning 22 rushing touchdowns. No other team has allowed more than 17 rushing scores, so the Panthers have been next-level bad in that department.

James White, NE vs. KC
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $5,500

The Patriots leaned heavily on White against the Texans last week, which resulted in him catching eight of 11 targets for 98 yards and two touchdowns. On top of that, he received a season-high 14 carries that he turned into 79 yards. Sony Michel has been hit-or-miss and their wide receiver options aren’t great after Julian Edelman, so look for the Patriots to turn to White often as they try to keep pace the Chiefs’ high-powered offense.
