NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

Monday’s holiday brings a packed slate in the NBA consisting of 11 games. With games going on throughout the day, DraftKings and FanDuel have broken things up a little differently. FanDuel’s main contests start at 3pm EST while DraftKings has a five-game contest that starts at 1pm EST and a four-game one that starts at 6pm EST. Let’s highlight some cheap value plays across all of the contests that could be worth adding to your entry. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

D.J. Augustin, ORL at ATL
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $5,100

Augustin is averaging 28 minutes a game this season, which is his highest mark since the 2011-12 season. Regardless of whether or not he’s suited to be a starter at this stage of his career, his minutes aren’t going away anytime soon, barring a trade. He’s provided value with averages of 11.6 points, 4.8 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per game and has an excellent matchup Monday against a Hawks team that plays at the fastest pace (105.5 possessions per game) in the league.

Shelvin Mack, MEM vs. NO
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = NA

This game isn’t included in either of the contests on DraftKings, but Mack is playing so well right now that he’s not someone to overlook if you filling out a lineup on FanDuel. Across his last six games, Mack is averaging 12.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. The Pelicans play at the fifth-fastest pace (103.4), leaving Mack with the potential for even more opportunities to provide value at this cheap price.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

Eric Gordon, HOU at PHI
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,900

James Harden finally has some help with Gordon healthy. Over two games since returning from a knee injury, Gordon is averaging 25 points, four rebounds, and three assists. The most encouraging part is the fact that he logged 32 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday. He’s likely going to receive plenty of scoring opportunities again Monday, especially with the Sixers playing at the seventh-fastest pace (102.9).

Josh Hart, LAL vs. GS
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $5,200

Injuries continue to pile up for the Lakers with Lonzo Ball (ankle) their most recent player to go down. Rajon Rondo (hand) and LeBron James (groin) are both listed as doubtful for this game, so the Lakers are going to have to try and patch things together against a Warriors team that has its’ full complement of weapons. Hart should be one of the players to receive increased minutes. Across 16 games in which the Lakers have played him at least 30 minutes this season, Hart is averaging 11.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.8 steals.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

Taurean Prince, ATL vs. ORL
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $5,200

Prince has mostly started for the Hawks this season, but he’s come off of the bench in all three games since returning from an ankle injury. Kevin Huerter and DeAndre’ Bembry both played well in his absence, so Prince may not get his starting job back anytime soon. The good news is he attempted 14 shots in 23 minutes Saturday against the Celtics. With the uptempo pace at which the Hawks play, Prince should still get enough scoring opportunities to be worth considering Monday, especially at his cheap price on FanDuel.

Lance Stephenson, LAL vs. GS
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $4,000

With Ball out, Brandon Ingram will likely be the primary ball handler for the Lakers. Stephenson will also likely have to take on some of those responsibilities, especially for the second unit. This sets up for him to see an increase in playing time, at least until Rondo and James return. He has played well when given extended playing time this season, averaging 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds. 3.9 assists and one steal over 12 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes. Of note, Stephenson is only eligible at small forward on FanDuel since he is listed at point guard and shooting guard on DraftKings.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

P.J. Tucker, HOU at PHI
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,300

Tucker might be one of the more underappreciated players in the league. His value doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet, but his ability to defend multiple positions and log a ton of minutes is key for the Rockets. With Clint Capela (thumb) out, they need Tucker even more up front. He’s stepped up in a big way, averaging 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.3 steals across three games since Capela went down. Reinforcements are likely coming in the form of Kenneth Faried, but Tucker is still a great option Monday with his high minute’s floor.

Marcus Morris, BOS vs. MIA
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,800

Morris is only averaging 7.5 points across his last four games, but don’t panic. He averaged 10.5 shot attempts during that stretch, which is almost exactly in line with his season average. He’s still one of the key offensive pieces for the Celtics, leaving him with a 21.2 percent usage rate that ranks fourth-highest on the team. His price has come down a bit due to his recent struggles, so this could be a good opportunity to take a chance on him in tournament play. If he can correct his shooting woes, he could provide excellent value.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/21/19

DeMarcus Cousins, GS at LAL
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $5,700

Cousins only played 15 minutes in his debut with the Warriors on Friday, but that didn’t stop him posting 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block. Opposing defenses have always had to focus on slowing him down, but with this type of talent around him, easy scoring opportunities could pop up for him more often than ever before. Cousins could play up to 20 minutes Monday, which makes him a viable option considering both of these teams are in the top-10 in the league in pace of play.

Ivica Zubac, LAL vs. GS
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,500

The Lakers brought in Tyson Chandler to provide depth at center behind JaVale McGee, but they might have been better off just playing Zubac more. He had a productive stretch in December while filling in for McGee when he was out due to an illness. He’s been at it again the last couple of games, recording 26 points and 12 rebounds against the Thunder on Thursday and 17 points and seven rebounds against the Rockets on Saturday. There is a good chance that he receives extended minutes again Monday, especially if this game becomes a blowout. At this cheap price, he has some appeal in tournament play.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

It’s been a fairly quiet week in the NBA, but things pick up a little bit with eight games on the schedule Wednesday. There are still several teams dealing with injury issues, helping to create some cheaper value plays with upside. Here are a couple at each position to consider when crafting your lineup. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

Shelvin Mack, MEM vs. MIL
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $3,800

Mack had fallen out of the Grizzlies’ rotation recently, but with Kyle Anderson (ankle) out, some added minutes may have opened up for him. He logged 23 minutes against the Rockets on Monday and finished with 10 points, three rebounds, seven assists, and one steal. Anderson was actually injured in Saturday’s game against the Heat, which propelled Mack to score 13 points to go along with one rebound and two assists over 28 minutes. The Bucks play at the fifth-fastest pace (103.2 possessions per game) in the league, so the added playing time makes Mack a viable target in tournament play.

Jalen Brunson, DAL vs. SA
FanDuel = $3,700
DraftKings = $4,400

The Mavericks suffered a really tough blow when J.J. Barea (Achilles) was lost for the season. Dennis Smith Jr. has missed their last three games with a back injury and is now dealing with illness, as well, making him questionable for Wednesday. Brunson logged 30 minutes with both players out Sunday against the Warriors and finished with 12 points, four rebounds, an assist and a block. If Smith can’t play, Brunson is at least someone to consider, especially at near the minimum price on FanDuel.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

Austin Rivers, HOU vs. BKN
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $5,400

The Rockets continue to lean heavily on Rivers, who has averaged 37 minutes a game since joining the team. They might get Eric Gordon (knee) back Wednesday, but since he’s missed their last eight games, he likely won’t log a ton of minutes even if he does play. Even though Rivers doesn’t provide many rebounds or defensive stats, his role within the offense has still left him with value more often than not.

Kyle Korver, UTA at LAC
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $4,200

The Jazz will once again be taking the floor Wednesday without any of their top three point guards. With so many key players unavailable, it’s opened up added playing time for Korver. Over the last three games, he’s averaged 14.6 points, three rebounds and 3.7 three-pointers over 26.3 minutes per game. The Clippers allow the seventh-most points per game (114.3) in the league, leaving Korver with some upside if he gets hot from behind the arc.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

Cedi Osman, CLE at POR
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,800

Osman is coming off of one of his best games of the season after he recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, and two steals Sunday against the Lakers. He was on the floor for a whopping 42 minutes and tied his season-high with 17 shot attempts. The Cavaliers don’t have a lot of depth up front with Kevin Love (toe) and Larry Nance Jr. (knee) out, which should leave Osman with plenty of playing time once again Wednesday.

Royce O’Neale, UTA at LAC
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,500

Speaking of players seeing added playing time due to injuries, O’Neale has stepped up lately for the Jazz. He’s only averaging 17 minutes per game for the season, but he’s logged at least 27 minutes in each of his last three games. People may be down on him after a scoreless outing Monday against the Pistons. However, he had played well in his previous two games and has a much more favorable matchup against the Clippers, who also play at the ninth-fastest pace (102.5 possessions per game) in the league.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

P.J. Tucker, HOU vs. BKN
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,700

The Rockets are really hurting up front with Clint Capela (thumb) out for at least the next four weeks. They already play a lot of small lineups, so expect that to be the case even more so moving forward. Tucker is a key part of those small lineups based on his ability to guard multiple positions. That’s left him to average 35 minutes a game this season. His numbers don’t exactly stand out, but his respectable averages of eight points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game make him a viable tournament play option.

Maxi Kleber, DAL vs. SA
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,600

Brunson isn’t the only player who could receive a boost in playing time if Smith doesn’t take the floor for the Mavericks. Kleber has logged at least 26 minutes in three straight games, averaging 10.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks. Across seven games in which Kleber has logged at least 25 minutes this season, he’s averaged 8.2 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/16/19

Jarrett Allen, BKN at HOU
FanDuel = $6,500
DraftKings = $5,600

With Capela out, Allen will be left to battle with Nene Hilario, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Marquese Chriss. That’s not exactly an intimidating group. There is the chance that the Nets try to match the Rockets’ small lineups, which could lead to fewer minutes for Allen. However, there is also the chance that he receives his normal allotment of playing time and thrives against weaker talent. Based on his reasonable price tag, deploying him in DFS might be a risk worth taking.

Kevon Looney, GS vs. NO
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,100

Looney came through with another productive stat line Tuesday, scoring nine points to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists and one block against the Nuggets. His time as a starter will be coming to an end with DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) expected to return Friday, so take advantage of Looney at this cheap price while you can. This is another favorable matchup for him with both the Warriors and the Pelicans inside the top-10 in the league in pace of play.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

The NBA doesn’t let up Tuesday with eight more games on the schedule. With the combination of a busy slate and plenty of injuries throughout the league, we have some great value play options to consider. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

T.J. McConnell, PHI vs. WAS
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,300

McConnell continues to provide excellent defensive contributions by averaging 1.5 steals across his last 20 games. His scoring numbers aren’t always there, but his steals and assists still make him someone to consider. This also stands out as an excellent matchup for him with both the Sixers and the Wizards in the top-nine in the league in pace of play.

De’Anthony Melton, PHO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,100

Devin Booker (back) didn’t practice Monday after having to leave Sunday’s game against the Hornets. Melton was forced to play 26 minutes in that contest and finished with five points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. If Booker is unable to play, Melton has some upside against a Kings team that plays at the second-fastest pace (104.9 possessions per game). Even if Booker is able to give it a go, Melton might be worth a look in tournament play based on the Suns’ overall lack of depth at point guard.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Dwyane Wade, MIA vs. DEN
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,000

Wade might be in the twilight of his career, but don’t sleep on him Tuesday. He comes into this game playing well, averaging 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and four assists across his last nine games. With Goran Dragic (knee) out, Wade should continue to see added opportunities to help facilitate the Heat’s offense. This isn’t necessarily a great matchup against a tough Nuggets’ defense, but Wade is still priced low enough on both sites to warrant consideration.

Josh Okogie, MIN at OKC
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300

It’s going to be important to monitor the Timberwolves’ rotations over their next few games with Tom Thibodeau out as their head coach. Thibodeau was notorious for having short rotations and riding his starters for heavy minutes, so there could be a few players that have significant swings in value. The good news for Tuesday from a minutes projection perspective is that both Derrick Rose (ankle) and Robert Covington (ankle) have already been ruled out. Okogie could receive another starting nod, as a result. Across 10 previous starts, he has averaged 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and one steal.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

DeAndre’ Bembry, ATL at TOR
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,600

Another team battling various injuries is the Hawks, who will be without Taurean Prince (ankle) and Kent Bazemore (ankle) for this matchup against the Raptors. Bembry has been forced into more playing time of late and has come through with averages of 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, two assists, and 1.1 steals across his last seven games. Even though this will be a tough task against a good defensive team, the Hawks play at the fastest pace (105.5) in the league, leaving Bembry with some upside based on his expanded role.

Otto Porter Jr., WAS at PHI
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $5,600

Porter stands out as a great cheap option, especially on FanDuel. He hasn’t played more than 24 minutes in any of his three games since returning from injury, but that hasn’t stopped him from averaging 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 steals across his last two contests. This game should be played at a fast pace and Porter is said to have no minute’s restriction, further making a case to roll with him in your entry.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Marvin Williams, CHA at LAC
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,300

Williams’ averages for the season aren’t really anything to get overly excited about. However, he’s heated up after a slow start, averaging 13.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and one steal across his last 10 games. He’s been especially hot from behind the arc, draining at least two three-pointers in a game eight times during that stretch. The Clippers allow the seventh-most points per game (114.3) in the league, setting up Williams with a favorable opportunity to continue his recent run of success.

Josh Jackson, PHO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,900

If Booker doesn’t play in this game, Jackson is another option who could stand to benefit from his absence. Jackson has had a hard time finding consistent playing time, but he’s averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, three assists, and one steal across 25 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Willy Hernangomez, CHA at LAC
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $4,400

After Cody Zeller (hand) went down, the Hornets immediately turned to Hernangomez as their starting center. However, his stint in that role lasted just one game. He’s come off of the bench in two games since and has still been productive with averages of 14.5 points, seven rebounds, and 2.4 assists. The Clippers allowed the fifth-most FanDuel and DraftKings points per game to opposing centers, making Hernangomez a great cheap option to target.

Kevon Looney, GS vs. NY
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,000

I’m definitely in favor of rolling with Henrnangomez in your lineup if you want to save money at center. However, if your budget needs even more assistance, Looney could also be productive. The Knicks can’t stop anyone right now and continue to change their rotations up front, so it’s hard to establish any sort of rhythm defensively. Despite playing with so many stars around him, Looney has still managed to average 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last seven games.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

Monday might not be the busiest day in the NBA with just seven games, but there are plenty of the top teams in action. It makes for some interesting choices in DFS, so let’s examine a couple of cheap players at each position who could provide value. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our Playerlab tool, where you can filter the stats that matter the most and help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

J.J. Barea, DAL at OKC
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,600

The Mavericks and Thunder just played each other Sunday, a contest in which Barea scored six points to go along with 10 assists and one steal across 21 minutes. Despite receiving limited playing time off of the bench this year, Barea has still been able to average 11.4 points and 5.7 assists per game, overall. His 27.8 percent usage rate has been one of the main reasons for his offensive success and makes him a viable target once again Monday.

Tyus Jones, MIN at NO
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $5,000

Jeff Teague (ankle) and Derrick Rose (ankle) were both unable to play Sunday against the Heat, which opened up a starting role for Jones. He provided excellent all-around production, scoring 12 points to go along with four rebounds, five assists, and five steals across 36 minutes. If Teague and Rose can’t play again Monday, Jones could in line for another great game against a Pelicans squad that plays at the fifth-fastest pace (103.5 possessions per game) in the league.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

Dennis Schroder, OKC vs. DAL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,400

The Thunder still don’t have a great bench, but the addition of Schroder has been a big reason why they are off to a 22-13 start. His numbers are down compared to last year when he was with the Hawks, but that was to be expected considering he’s now playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George. However, he’s still averaging 16.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game, making him someone to consider at his reasonable price on both sites.

Austin Rivers, HOU vs. MEM
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $4,900

It’s will be slim pickings for the Rockets backcourt Monday with Chris Paul (hamstring) and Eric Gordon (knee) both sidelined. Rivers hasn’t been with the team long, but he’s expected to start in this contest. He’s averaged 10 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists across three games with the Rockets and could be an excellent value play in DFS, especially considering his price on FanDuel.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

Mikal Bridges, PHO vs. GS
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,200

The Suns initially brought Bridges off of the bench this year, but he’s started each of their last 20 games. The staring role has brought a significant increase in playing time for Bridges, who has averaged 33 minutes across his last 15 games. One of his key contributions has come on the defensive end with him averaging 1.6 steals across that 15-game stretch. Even though he’s not much of a scorer, his overall contributions still make him a viable option Monday against a Warriors team that plays at the 10th-fastest pace (101.7).

Kelly Oubre Jr., PHO vs. GS
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $4,300

Oubre has put up a couple of offensive clunkers, scoring a combined eight points in his last two games. The good news is that he continued to chip in defensive stats despite his scoring troubles, totaling two steals and three blocks in those contests. He has scored at least 13 points in three of six games since joining the Suns, so don’t read too much into his recent poor play. His price is low enough on both sites that it might be worth taking a chance on him having a bounce-back performance.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

Marcus Morris, BOS at SA
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $5,800

The Celtics have significant depth, which has limited the fantasy value of some of their players. However, Morris hasn’t seen a decline in production with everyone finally healthy. In fact, he’s having one of the best seasons of his career, averaging 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds a game. His 21.2 percent usage rate is actually fourth-highest on the team, which is encouraging for his value moving forward. The Spurs struggle to defend opposing power forwards, so don’t be surprised if Morris finishes with a juicy stat line Monday.

Jerami Grant, OKC vs. DAL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,200

Grant is finally getting his chance to shine this season, averaging 31 minutes a game. He doesn’t get a ton of scoring opportunities, but he’s still averaging 12.3 points per game based on his increased playing time and 52.5 percent shooting from the field. The Thunder play at the fourth-fastest pace (103.5) in the league, which also helps with regards to Grant’s production. Morris has the higher upside of the two, but Grant is also worth considering if you want to use even less of your budget at power forward.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/31/18

Steven Adams, OKC vs. DAL
FanDuel = $6,800
DraftKings = $7,000

Adams had a quiet outing against the Mavericks on Sunday, scoring eight points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals. He only attempted five shots, which tied for his fewest in a game this season. He has one of the highest minute’s floors of anyone at the center position, so don’t worry too much about one off night. In fact, the first time these two teams played each other this season, Adams thrived with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Kevon Looney, GS at PHO
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $3,700

DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) is inching his way towards a return, and when he does, Looney is likely to lose some playing time. Looney has actually done a nice job stepping into the starting lineup and has even averaged 9.2 points and 7.2 rebounds across his last five games. With all of the Suns’ defensive deficiencies, this could be a spot to deploy Looney if you want to go the extremely cheap route at center.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

The NBA starts off the week with seven games Monday, including a great matchup between the Nuggets and Raptors. Let’s dive right in and highlight some cheap value plays that could be difference makers for your lineup. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our Playerlab tool, where you can filter the stats that matter the most and help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LAC at NO
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $5,500

This is a game to target tonight with both the Clippers and the Pelicans in the top-eight in the league in pace of play. Gilgeous-Alexander might not have the highest offensive upside, but his usage rate has increased from 15.6 percent when he was coming off of the bench to 18.9 percent since entering the starting five. He’s also been an asset defensively by averaging 1.1 steals and one block across his 13 starts.

Tim Frazier, NO vs. LAC
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $4,700

The Pelicans don’t have much of a choice but to play Frazier. The injury to Elfrid Payton (finger) has opened up an opportunity for him to take the floor and an injury to E’Twaun Moore (calf) has only made things worse for the Pelicans. Frazier isn’t much of a scoring threat, but he has averaged 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 10 assists over his last three games. His price is climbing, but he’s still a great cheap tournament play.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

Damyean Dotson, NY vs. WAS
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $4,500

It’s hard to get a grasp on what the Knicks will do on a nightly basis. They have constantly changed up their rotations, making them a nightmare in DFS. Things could be a little less murky Monday with Trey Burke (knee) already ruled out. Dotson was already starting to find his way back into the rotation and even scored 21 points to go along with five rebounds and a steal across 33 minutes on Saturday against the Bucks. He’s certainly risky, but the absence of Burke leaves Dotson with some appeal.

Alec Burks, CLE at BKN
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $3,800

Burks was only averaging 16 minutes a game with the Jazz earlier this season, but he’s been able to average 25 minutes in his first two games with the Cavaliers. They are short on offensive options, so it’s not out of the question that he could continue to see this type of run. Not only did he score at least 13 points in both of his games with the Cavaliers, but he also grabbed 12 total rebounds. Dotson probably has the higher upside, but Burks is also someone to at least consider.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

Juancho Hernangomez, DEN at TOR
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,400

Will Barton (groin) is making positive steps towards a return, but he won’t be back for this contest. Hernangomez has helped stabilize the small forward position with Barton out, averaging 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds a game as a starter. This might not be a high-scoring contest between two of the better defenses in the league, but that doesn’t mean you should pass on Hernangomez if you want to save money at small forward.

Kelly Oubre Jr., WAS at NY
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300

Oubre has been extremely frustrating. He’s scored at least 18 points in a game six times, but also has 12 contests with nine points or fewer. He was starting recently with Dwight Howard (lower body) out, but the Wizards moved him back to the bench Saturday against the Nets. Rolling with Oubre is risky since the Wizards are still trying to figure out what works best without Howard, but his upside makes him an intriguing option.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

Noah Vonleh, NY vs. WAS
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,300

Vonleh had never averaged more than 17 minutes a game during his career, but he’s averaging 25 minutes per contest in his first year with the Knicks. His usage rate is a minuscule 13.4 percent, but he’s a nightly threat for a double-double with averages of 8.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. With the Wizards dealing with depth issues up front, this could be a situation for Vonleh to thrive.

Jonas Jerebko, GS at ATL
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $4,200

The Warriors are running out of bodies up front. Draymond Green (toe) and Alfonzo McKinnie (foot) will remain out Monday and will now be joined on the sidelines by Damian Jones, who recently suffered a torn pectoral muscle.  Jerebko isn’t going to get many shot attempts sharing the floor with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson, but he is averaging 7.6 rebounds across his last eight games. The Hawks play at the fastest pace (106.9 possessions per game) in the league, which could afford Jerebko with even more opportunities to provide value.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 12/3/18

Mason Plumlee, DEN at TOR
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $3,900

Plumlee is one of the better backup centers in the league, but that doesn’t really help him garner much playing time considering the Nuggets also have Nikola Jokic. Despite averaging just 17 minutes a game, Plumlee has still managed to salvage some value by averaging 6.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, two assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. He’s really stepped up his defensive contributions of late, averaging 1.6 steals and 1.7 blocks across his last seven games.

Kevon Looney, GS at ATL
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $3,700

Another player who should benefit from all of the injuries to the Warriors is Looney. He, Jerebko and Jordan Bell are pretty much all they have left up front, although they can also play Kevin Durant there when they want to go small. The Hawks are an awful team, but they do have some size with Dewayne Dedmon, Alex Len, and John Collins. This game could also turn into a route early that leaves the Durant and the rest of the Warriors stars on the bench in the fourth quarter, which could lead to even more minutes for Looney.
