They start things off with the announcement the Nets will give away 10,000 Kyrie Irving jerseys for the second game of the season against the New York Knicks. It’s a huge shout out to fans and a great way to welcome Brooklyn’s newest superstar to Barclays.

There’s also a discussion about the Nets’ current roster depth and how the core need of a power forward and athletic four really hasn’t been addressed and is made even muddier with the Wilson Chandler suspension and possibly some Rodion Kurucs legal issues.

At the end of the episode Adam and Doug discuss Spencer Dinwiddie’s contract and how he’ll offer it as an investment opportunity in the form of a digital coin under a bond structure. The guys discuss this move as it relates to the player empowerment era and what it could mean for future player contracts.

They start off the podcast by discussing some speculation about the possiblity of the Nets not meeting full win and playoff expectations for the coming season. There’s debate about the *whys* behind those feelings (mostly from Doug) and some of the numbers that need to work out for the Nets to really improve on 2018-2019’s success.

Then they discuss the We Got Nets podcast philosophy after taking some heat from listeners about introducing some skepticism around the Nets’ short term future.

And finally, they look at some possible crunch time rotation possibilities and how the lack of power forward size could be a real problem heading into the season. All of this and more as the guys broadcast live from the WGN summer cabin.

We Got Nets – A Brooklyn Nets Podcast Episode 4: Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving 7/1/19

In Episode 4, recorded on July 1, the *first day* of free agency, the We Got Nets guys are back for their Brooklyn Nets Podcast breaking down the huge news of the day: Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving officially became Brooklyn Nets by signing long term deals with the team. It was something of a shocker (on the Durant side).

Listen to the We Got Nets Podcast on Spreaker or Download the We Got Nets Podcast on iTunes.

Doug Norrie and Adam Armbrecht reflect on some of the things that happened to get Brooklyn in a spot to land two superstars in this free agency period and how the Nets will look going forward. They remind fans to remember Kevin Durant likely won’t play much (if at all) this season and they try to figure out what Kyrie Irving’s presence will look like replacing D’Angelo Russell in the backcourt.

There’s also some talk about DeAndre Jordan’s contribution in getting the two superstars in the door, salty/ devastated Knicks fans and much more. It’s a packed podcast and the We Got Nets guy break everything down.

We Got Nets – A Brooklyn Nets Podcast

Daily Fantasy Sports Ranking’s head of NBA content and projections, Doug Norrie, is starting a new take on the NBA with the We Got Nets Podcast, a Brooklyn Nets Podcast with episodes all offseason and during the season as well.

Along with lifelong Nets fan Adam Armbrecht the two will cover Brooklyn Nets news and game coverage. They’ll offer previews to upcoming games as well as breakdowns following Nets (hopefully) wins and (please no) losses.

In the first full episode, the guys reflect a bit on the NBA Finals and what the Toronto win and Warriors’ injuries could mean for upcoming free agency as well as the Nets’ chances at landing a big star or two.

Then they look at the free agent landscape and what adding the much-rumored Kyrie Irving could mean for the team as well as some of the other players who should be on the Nets’ radar. They talk about his potential fit, or possible lack thereof, with D’Angelo Russell who is coming off a breakout season for Brooklyn.

Players like Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and even Khris Middleton are also discussed.

Listen to their first full episode on Spreaker:

The We Got Nets guys will be adding weekly episodes all throughout the offseason, discussing how the team is taking shape and what we can expect for the 2019-2020 season. Be sure to subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 22

It’s important to know the intricacies of the NBA schedule to gain an advantage over your opponent in a head-to-head fantasy league as starting your best players might not always give you the best chance to win. Here are some moves you might want to consider for your team based on the week ahead.

Teams With The Most Games – 4 Games Each
Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors

It’s crunch time in the fantasy playoffs, but only eight teams can give you an edge by playing four games each this week. If you’re dealing with injuries or need a boost for your squad, consider adding the players below who are still available in the majority of leagues.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 22

Terry Rozier, Boston Celtics

The Celtics don’t play four games this week, but Rozier is still someone to consider adding with three games on the schedule. Not only is Jaylen Brown (concussion) likely out for most, if not all, of this week, but Kyrie Irving (knee) also left Sunday’s game against the Pacers and did not return. From the sound of Irving after the game, he is likely going to miss some time. With the Celtics cruising towards the playoffs, it makes a lot of sense for them to take a cautious approach with their best player. Rozier should be in line for a ton of playing time this week, giving him a significant boost in value. In nine games that Rozier has logged at least 30 minutes this season, he is averaging 17.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.1 three-pointers. He’s still available in 61% of Yahoo! leagues and could be a difference maker when it matters the most.

Montrezl Harrell, Los Angeles Clippers

Harrell is coming on strong down the stretch, averaging 17.8 points and 4.2 rebounds through five games in March. He doesn’t provide many assists or blocks, but he’s been stellar from the field, shooting 63.3% this season. That’s no fluke either as he is shooting 64.2% from the field for his career. With Danilo Gallinari (hand) out again this week, that frees up more minutes up front for the Clippers. If you need a big man in your fantasy playoffs, Harrell is still available in 68% of Yahoo! leagues.

Corey Brewer, Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder have lacked depth all season and didn’t make any moves at the trade deadline, but they did manage to bring in Brewer after he was bought out by the Lakers. He’s started and played at least 28 minutes in back-to-back games, averaging 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, one steal and two three-pointers. In his four games this week, two are against bad teams in the Hawks and Kings and the other is against the Clippers, who play at the sixth-fastest pace (101.2 possessions per game) in the league. He should provide value with points, three’s and steals with the extra game this week and is still available in 97% of Yahoo! leagues. He’s likely not someone to consider in standard size leagues, but if you play in a deep league, Brewer might be someone to target on waivers.

Teams With The Fewest Games – 3 Games Each
Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards

Outside of the eight teams with four games each, the rest of the league all plays three games each during Week 22. Although the difference isn’t as drastic as it has been in previous weeks, you should still consider benching the players below.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 22

Kyrie Irving, Boston Celtics

After playing just 16 minutes Sunday due to a sore left knee, Irving said it’s an issue he’s been dealing with for the last week and that he might need some additional rest. The Celtics don’t play again until Wednesday, but it seems likely that Irving is going to miss some time. While his uncertainty comes at an inopportune time for those in the fantasy playoffs, it might be too much of a risk to put him into your lineup this week.

Brandon Ingram, Los Angeles Lakers

Ingram has made major strides in his second season in the league but has missed the last five games with a groin injury. The Lakers announced Sunday that Ingram won’t play Tuesday or Wednesday either, leaving him to play just one game this week best case scenario. Keep him anchored to your bench with the hope that he can return for Week 23.

Thaddeus Young, Indiana Pacers

Young is struggling mightily right now, averaging only 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists through six games in March. He’s averaging 33 minutes per game on the season overall but may be starting to lose playing time, logging just 23 minutes in back-to-backs contests. Two of his three opponents this week are the Raptors and Wizards, both teams he has not played well against this season. Young has been a productive player throughout the season, but his recent struggles make him too much of a risk.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 13

The NBA season is moving quickly with this week marking the 13th week of the 26-week season. If you aren’t already sitting pretty in your season-long league, now is the time to make some moves. It’s important to know the intricacies of the schedule to gain an advantage over your opponent in a head-to-head league as starting your best players might not always give you the best chance to win. Here are the moves you want to consider for your team based on the week ahead.

Teams With The Most Games – 4 Games Each
Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors.

With stars like Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler, and DeMarcus Cousins all having the opportunity to play four games each this week, your team could be starting off with a significant advantage. If you are looking for some other players to help fill out your starting lineup, consider adding the players below who each get four games this week and are widely available in most leagues.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 13

Trey Lyles, Denver Nuggets

Lyles had played at least 20 minutes in a game only twice all season through November but has played less than 20 minutes in a game only once since. He’s clearly assumed a major role off the bench, finishing with a 19.6% usage rate in December. Not only did he average 14.7 points and 6.6 rebounds in December, but he’s averaging 20.3 points and 9.0 rebounds over three games in January. Although he won’t provide many assists, steals or blocks, he is averaging 2.2 three-pointers over his last 18 games. He’s somehow still available in 51% of Yahoo! leagues, so make sure you pick him up with four games this week.

Delon Wright, Toronto Raptors

Wright is starting to make waves in Toronto, averaging 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 three-pointers over his last eight games. He’s earning more playing time as a result, logging at least 20 minutes in five of those eight games. Norman Powell, C.J. Miles, and OG Anunoby have struggled to provide consistent production, so Wright should continue to see added minutes going forward. Two of his four games this week come against the Warriors and the Nets, two of top five teams in the league in terms of pace of play. Still available in 73% of Yahoo! leagues, there is potential here for excellent production.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Sacramento Kings

The Kings continue to change up their rotations, making things frustrating from a fantasy perspective. Case in point, Bogdanovic has started three of the last eight games. Despite the changes, he still managed to average 12.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 three-pointers over those eight games. He gets to play the Clippers twice and the Lakers once in three of his four games this week, which are great matchups since both teams struggle to defend shooting guards. He’s still available in 85% of Yahoo! leagues, so don’t hesitate to pick him up if you need a guard.

Teams With The Fewest Games – 1 Game Each
Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers

The Celtics and the Sixers face each other in London on Thursday, resulting in them both only playing one game this week due to the extensive travel. As a result, you should consider benching the following players this week.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 13

Kyrie Irving, Boston Celtics

There is no doubt Irving in an elite scorer, averaging 24.1 points and 2.5 three-pointers per game this season. The problem is, he doesn’t provide tremendous help in other categories, averaging just 3.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. A volume scorer with only one game on the schedule is a recipe for disaster. It’s hard to bench a star like Irving, but this might be just the week to do so.

Al Horford, Boston Celtics

Horford’s main value comes from his ability to contribute across the board, averaging 13.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.0 block and 1.4 three-pointers per game. You don’t see that type of production out of the center position too often. Unfortunately, his production is not out of this world in any one area. In a week with only one game, he just won’t have the opportunity to pile up enough stats for you in multiple categories. Keep him out of your lineup.

Dario Saric, Philadelphia 76ers

Saric has been a key contributor for the Sixers this year, especially with all the time that Joel Embiid has had to miss due to rest and injuries. Embiid missed several games in December, resulting in Saric averaging 17.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.2 three-pointers per game in the month. With Embiid having plenty of time to rest before Thursday’s game, it appears that he should play. One game with Embiid likely back in the fold just doesn’t leave enough value for Saric to be in your starting lineup this week.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks 12/23/17

POINT GUARDS:

Kyrie Irving ($8,900 FD/$8,800 DK)

Holding about the same price tag on both platforms, Kyrie Irving has some serious upside Saturday night. Uncle Drew is averaging 42 FanDuel PPG over his last three games, as he torched opposing defenses for 30+ points each night. Although the Chicago Bulls have been hot lately, their defense remains weak as they rank top 5 worst in the league in defending point guards. This match is set to be in Boston, where Kyrie Irving is also averaging 44 FanDuel PPG over his last five home games. Kyrie should definitely cross your mind when assembling your lineup.

Tyler Johnson ($6,000 FD/$5,400 DK)

With a very appealing price, Tyler Johnson may be your go-to play to preserve some salary. Johnson has been given the starting nod the last three games to patch up Goran Dragic’s recent absence as he is dealing with elbow issues. Tyler Johnson logged 36+ minutes in each of his starts and has been thriving due to Dragic’s misfortune. Johnson evidently has seen a boost in usage and workload as he faces the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday night who rank 6th in pace of play. Averaging 32.2 FanDuel PPG in his three starts, the Pelicans will force the Heat to push up their tempo with Johnson running the offense. Johnson’s price makes him extremely valuable in this slate and has a good enough resume to take the risk on.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks 12/23/17

SHOOTING GUARDS:

Khris Middleton ($7,700 FD/$7,600 DK)

Middleton and the Bucks play the Hornets Saturday night, the same team they defeated 109-104 the prior night. The Hornets rank poorly against SG’s as Middleton scored 28 points Friday night. Lately, Middleton has not disappointed DFS wise. He has scored at least 32 FanDuel points nine straight games. Ranking top 10 in the league in pace, the Charlotte Hornets will be forcing a top 10 offensive in the Milwaukee Bucks to handle more possessions. This makes Middleton immensely valuable, as the number of opportunities he could have will increase.

Tyreke Evans ($8,000 FD/$7,900 DK)

With Conley still sidelined or Memphis, Tyreke Evans continues to put on a show given the boost in usage and workload. Evans has scored 22+ points in 3 of his last 4 games. His teammate, Marc Gasol is doubtful to play Saturday night as he deals with a sore hip. Evans will be the primary source to score for the struggling Grizzlies. He shouldn’t have too much of a problem considering his opponent, the Los Angeles Clippers, rank 24th in the league in defending the position.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks 12/23/17

SMALL FORWARDS:

Josh Richardson ($6,000 FD/$6,400 DK)

Alongside teammate Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson has been doing just fine handling his increased usage percentage due to Dragic’s injury. In the three games Dragic has been sidelined, Richardson posted an average of 41.8 FanDuel PPG. Dion Waiters is also questionable in this one. If he is in fact ruled out, Richardson will see another upward spike in workload and be deemed as one of the Heat’s primary scoring options. Despite his recent value, his salary price hasn’t budged much which is nothing to complain about. I would gladly spend $6,000 on a player with this much upside.

TJ Warren ($7,700 FD/$6,600 DK)

As the days go on TJ Warren continues to be the foundation of the Phoenix offense with Booker sidelined. Since Devon Booker got hurt, Warren is averaging 20.6 PPG. His fantasy numbers have been sub-par in comparison to his expectations, however, it seems he’s getting on the right track as he has provided at least 34 FanDuel points in three straight games. Warren faces the Timberwolves who he faced just a week ago, and although held to 26 FanDuel points, he seems a lot more appealing as the rematch now takes place in Arizona. Warren is an interesting play and most likely won’t be owned very much.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks 12/23/17

POWER FORWARDS:

Draymond Green ($8,700 FD/$7,200 DK) –

After returning from a four-game frame Friday night, Draymond Green took no time getting right back on track as he posted a near triple-double in 30 minutes of play. He is playing the Denver Nuggets as the tough, gritty Draymond Green has significant upside. Although he can run up your salary, Green has a great match-up against a team whose defense ranks 26th in the league in defending power forwards, allowing nearly 50 fantasy PPG to PF’s this season. The Warriors are still Curry-less and need players to take the weight off of Kevin Durant’s shoulders. Draymond Green’s return may solve this issue very shortly as he will inherit that responsibility with Klay Thompson.

Nikola Mirotic ($6,800 FD/$6,500 DK) –

Mirotic, or MiroFix? Since returning from injury, the what once was 3-20 Chicago Bulls have managed to ride a seven-game winning streak which was snapped Thursday by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who only won by three. Mirotic provides some serious help on the offensive end coming off the bench and has been a pretty good asset in DFS play. He has averaged 35.6 FanDuel PPG over his last five contests. Mirotic plays the #1 ranked defensive efficiency rated team in the NBA in the Boston Celtics. Despite overall rating, the Celtics rank 27th in the league in solely defending big men (PF/C’s). The PF position in this slate seems thin, making Mirotic a great fairly priced play.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks 12/23/17

CENTERS:

Nikola Jokic ($8,300 FD/$7,600 DK)

From one Nikola coming off an injury to another, we now focus on the rising star over in Denver. Jokic has regained his playing time as he has logged 36+ minutes in back-to-back games. Due to his injury and initial minute restriction, Jokic has been priced down as we once saw him in the high $9,000 range on FanDuel and DraftKings. Jokic is coming off a 48.8 FanDuel point performance against the top 5 defense the Portland Trailblazers carry. The idea of this former second-round pick getting his rhythm back is scary for competitors, but a joy for DFS users. He clashes with the Golden State Warriors Saturday night, where he seems to have some upside considering his minutes boost and recent production.

Myles Turner ($8,100 FD/$6,500 DK)

Myles Turner has a fairly big gap in salary between FanDuel and DraftKings, making him especially appealing on DK where his $6,500 salary seems way too cheap. Turner will be doing his thing at the Barclay Center Saturday night as he opposes the Brooklyn Nets for the second time in the past week. The first performance for Turner was average, posting 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting, which soon accumulated to 31 FanDuel points. This second time around may be a breakout game for Turner as the Nets rank third-worst in the league in defending centers. He is also coming off of a 40 FD point performance against the Atlanta Hawks. Regardless, the price for Myles Turner is extremely fair and seems to have a great opportunity for the ones seeking to take advantage of it.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
Kyrie Irving, BOS vs. GS
FanDuel = $8,300
DraftKings = $8,100

Irving has actually seen his averages decrease almost across the board this season, except for an improvement in steals (1.9 per game). The main culprit has been his playing time as he is only averaging 31 minutes per game after playing 35 minutes per game last season. The Celtics are going to need big minutes from him to keep pace with the Warriors and his 29.7% usage rate (tied for 12th best in the NBA) suggests he should be up for the task.

Tyler Ulis, PHO vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $4,200

Ulis has started the past two games over Mike James, playing at least 26 minutes in both contests. While he only scored a total of four points, he did take 12 total shots, so there is an opportunity for better production. He was able to average 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals over those starts, so he could provide value at this price if his shot is falling. Considering the limited amount of games on the schedule tonight and the Rockets uptempo offense, Ulis might be worth the risk at this price.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
James Harden, HOU at PHO
FanDuel = $12,500
DraftKings = $12,700

Harden has been out of this world of late as he is averaging 34.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 11.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 4.5 three-pointers over his last four games. He has been one of the safest DFS plays on most nights, even considering his hefty price tag. Chris Paul is expected to play in his first game this season Thursday, but he is only expected to play around 20 minutes. While Paul’s return may reduce Harden’s value down the road, it shouldn’t tonight.

Eric Gordon, HOU at PHO
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $6,200

Gordon is in the midst of one of the best seasons of his career as he is averaging 22.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.7 three-pointers per game. His value is also expected to take a hit with the return of Paul, but again it should only be a minimal impact with Paul on a minutes limit Thursday. Gordon hasn’t really seen a huge jump in playing time even when Paul was out though as he is averaging 33 minutes per game this season compared to 31 minutes per game last year. The Suns are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, so roll with Gordon Thursday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
Kevin Durant, GS at BOS
FanDuel = $10,500
DraftKings = $9,700

Durant has been a model of consistency as he has scored at least 20 points in all but one game this season. Not only is he averaging 7.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists as well, but he is averaging a career-high 2.2 blocks per game. They need his defense when they go small and move Draymond Green to center, so don’t be surprised if he continues to block shots at close to that rate. The Celtics are one of the best defensive teams in the league but don’t expect them to be able to slow Durant down Thursday.

T.J. Warren, PHO vs. HOU
FanDuel = $7,200
DraftKings = $6,500

Warren has stepped up his game of late as he is averaging 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 three-pointers over his last three games. The key for Warren has been increased opportunities in the offense as he is averaging a career-high 15.5 shot attempts per game. The Rockets score a ton and play at a fast pace, which could mean another great stat line from Warren Thursday. He could provide tremendous value at this price.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
Marquese Chriss, PHO vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,000

With so many elite DFS options available in only a two-game slate, it’s important to find a few dirt cheap options that will then allow you to stack your lineup with studs. Power forward presents that cost-saving position Thursday. Chriss has played at least 25 minutes in three of the last four games as he is starting to see his role expand for the Suns. His ability to both defend and hit three’s could prove very valuable against a Rockets team that likes to use small lineups. Take a risk on Chriss in tournament play.

Tarik Black, HOU at PHO
FanDuel = $3,300
DraftKings = $3,500

As we continue to look for ways to save money while squeezing out some value, we come to Black. Nene Hilario is considered doubtful to play in this game with a foot injury, which will open up minutes for Black. Nene missed the Rockets last game, which enabled Black to record 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes. The Suns are horrible defensively, making Black your other top cheap option at power forward for the evening.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
Clint Capela, HOU at PHO
FanDuel = $7,400
DraftKings = $7,200

Capela has posted a double-double in three of his last four games and has grabbed at least 11 rebounds in seven of his last nine games. With power forward Ryan Anderson spending most of his time around the three-point line, there are going to be plenty of chances for Capela to rack up rebounds. Don’t be surprised if he is the most productive center in DFS when the evening is all said and done.

Alex Len, PHO vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,400

Suns starting center Tyson Chandler is questionable heading into this game with an illness. If he were to miss the game, Len would take over the starting duties. Even if Chandler is able to play, he may see limited minutes. Despite only making two starts and averaging 23 minutes per game this season, Len is still averaging 8.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. If you need to save money at center, Len is an option in tournament play. If Chandler does miss the game, he could provide significant value.
