STARTING PITCHERS

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Chris Sale vs. Texas Rangers
Stadium – Fenway Park
FanDuel = $11,800
DraftKings = $10,900

To say Sale has rebounded from his poor start to the season would be a massive understatement. He completely dominated the Royals in his last start, recording 12 strikeouts in a complete game shutout. His FIP is now down to 3.16 while his strikeout rate is once again elite at 34.9 percent. The Rangers are missing Joey Gallo (oblique) and have a left-handed heavy lineup, so this is a prime spot for Sale to thrive.

Sandy Alcantara vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Stadium – Marlins Park
FanDuel = $7,000
DraftKings = $6,900

If you want to load up on hitters at Coors Field, you’re going to need to take chance on a really cheap starting pitcher. Alcantara might be worth considering despite the fact that he doesn’t provide much in the way of strikeouts. He’s allowed just six home runs across 71 innings and has recorded a quality start in three of his last four outings. It should also be noted that he’s thrived at pitcher-friendly Marlins Park this season, posting a 3.22 FIP there compared to a 5.92 FIP on the road.

CATCHER

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Mike Zunino vs. Tanner Anderson, Oakland Athletics
Stadium – Tropicana Field
FanDuel = $2,500
DraftKings = $3,100

Injuries are forcing the A’s to turn to Anderson to make a start Monday, which certainly isn’t ideal based on his a 7.27 FIP and a 1.68 WHIP across 54.2 innings at Triple-A. He’s also allowed 14 home runs, which brings Zunino into play at his cheap price on both sites.

FIRST BASE

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Ji-Man Choi vs. Tanner Anderson, Oakland Athletics
Stadium – Tropicana Field
FanDuel = $2,900
DraftKings = $4,000

Sticking with the Rays against Anderson brings me to Choi, who has a .367 wOBA versus right-handed pitchers this season. He’s also swinging a hot bat right now by hitting 15-for-40 (.375) with two home runs and two doubles over his last 12 games. If you want to fade some of the high-priced options, Choi could provide significant returns.

Others to consider: Anthony Rizzo and Daniel Murphy

SECOND BASE

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Brian Dozier vs. Odrisamer Despaigne, Chicago White Sox
Stadium – Guaranteed Rate Field
FanDuel = $2,700
DraftKings = $4,100

While it’s not official at the time I’m writing this, Despaigne is expected to start this game for the White Sox. He’s spent the start of the season at Triple-A and hasn’t fared well at the major league level during his career with a 4.35 FIP and a 1.42 WHIP. Dozier is 15-for-47 (.319) with three home runs and five doubles over his last 15 games, leaving him with a favorable chance to continue his recent run of success based on this matchup.

Others to consider: DJ LeMahieu and Brandon Lowe

THIRD BASE

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Colin Moran vs. Kevin Gausman, Atlanta Braves
Stadium – SunTrust Park
FanDuel = $2,700
DraftKings = $4,600

Although he might not get many headlines, Moran can be a valuable player. He’s hit particularly well of late, going 12-for-40 (.300) with five home runs across his last 12 games. One of those homers came against Gausman, who will be facing the Pirates for the second time in as many starts. Although his price isn’t as appealing on DraftKings, he’s very appealing on FanDuel.

Others to consider: Nolan Arenado and Anthony Rendon

SHORTSTOP

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Corey Seager vs. Griffin Canning, Los Angeles Angels
Stadium – Angel Stadium
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $4,200

Yes, Canning has a 3.52 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP since being recalled. However, four of his seven starts have come against bad lineups in the Blue Jays, Tigers, Royals and Orioles. Facing the Dodgers is a completely different story, so he could be in for a rough outing. Seager has a career .379 wOBA versus righties and has been swinging the bat much better of late, making him one of the top secondary options on the Dodgers to consider.

Others to consider: Trevor Story and Trea Turner

OUTFIELD

MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Recommendations for 6/10/19

Austin Meadows vs. Tanner Anderson, Oakland Athletics
Stadium – Tropicana Field
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $5,400

If you plan to go with a Rays stack against Anderson, pay up for Meadows. The Pirates have to be kicking themselves for trading him last year since he’s burst out of the gate with a 178 wRC+. He’s shown an excellent combination of speed and power, recording eight steals to go along with 12 home runs in just 47 games.

David Dahl vs. Yu Darvish, Chicago Cubs
Stadium – Coors Field
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $5,300

During the Rockies last 10-game homestand, Dahl thrived by hitting 18-for-40 (.450) with two home runs and four doubles. With his career .421 wOBA at Coors Field, he could provide plenty of trouble for Darvish, who’s lack of command has attributed to his 1.52 WHIP. He’s also allowed a .353 wOBA versus left-handed hitters.

Carlos Gonzalez vs. German Marquez, Colorado Rockies
Stadium – Coors Field
FanDuel = $3,100
DraftKings = $3,000

If you’re playing in a tournament on DraftKings, I’m not sure how you can pass up Gonzalez at this price. A former member of the Rockies, he’s put up excellent numbers at Coors Field over the course of his career. Marquez can rack up strikeouts in bunches, but he’s struggled lately by allowing at least four runs in five of his last eight starts.
