NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 – Quarterbacks and Running Backs

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 – Quarterbacks and Running Backs

It’s been a fun ride, but we’re down to the final regular season week of DFS. Week 17 can be tricky with some teams falling out of contention and playoff-bound squads resting some of their regulars. Keeping that in mind, here are some quarterbacks and running backs worth targeting for your entry. QUARTERBACK CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Ryan Tannehill, TEN at HOU
FanDuel = $7,900
DraftKings = $6,800

Although the Titans couldn’t pull off a win against the Saints last week, Tannehill had another productive game with 272 passing yards and three touchdowns. He’s now gone six straight games with at least two touchdowns passes, only throwing two interceptions during that stretch. With the Texans tied for the fourth-most touchdown passes allowed in the league, this is setting up as another week for Tannehill to thrive.

Jared Goff, LAR vs. ARI
FanDuel = $7,900
DraftKings = $6,200

The Rams have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, which is a surprise considering how well they played last season. Part of the reason for their regression was the poor play off Goff, who had only 11 touchdown passes compared to 12 interceptions across their first 11 games. He has made a late push with exactly two touchdown throws in each of his last four games, which included a performance against these same Cardinals in which he threw for 424 yards, as well. With the Cardinals allowing the second-most passing yards per game, Goff looks poised to finish the season on a high note.

QUARTERBACK GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Carson Wentz, PHI at NYG
FanDuel = $7,700
DraftKings = $6,100

Wentz has the Eagles in a position to win the NFC East if they can defeat the Giants. Even with a patchwork wide receiver group, Wentz has throw for 1,220 yards and nine touchdowns across his last four games. It is concerning that Zach Ertz is dealing with a fractured rib because if he can’t go, then Wentz will have even fewer quality targets to throw to. With that being said, this is a terrible Giants’ secondary that was torched by Dwayne Haskins and Case Keenum last week, so Wentz is still intriguing in tournament play.

Daniel Jones, NYG vs. PHI
FanDuel = $7,500
DraftKings = $6,400

Talk about returning with a strong performance. Jones lit up the Redskins in Week 16, throwing for 352 yards and five touchdowns. He also didn’t throw an interception across a career-high 42 pass attempts.  Although he’s had his ups and downs, Jones has shown immense upside by throwing for at least four touchdowns in a game three times. The Eagles are tied for the 10th-most passing touchdowns allowed, so he could put up another strong stat line, even if the Giants can’t pull out the win.

RUNNING BACK CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Alvin Kamara, NO at CAR
FanDuel = $7,900
DraftKings = $7,800

Kamara entered last week as a major disappointment from a fantasy perspective. He hadn’t scored a rushing touchdown since Week 3 and had only two total scores all season. All that changed against the Titans when he produced two rushing touchdowns and 110 total yards. Now he gets to face a Panthers’ defense that has allowed a staggering 29 rushing touchdowns. The Saints may have already locked up a playoff spot, but Kamara should see his normal workload here as they try to secure home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

Marlon Mack, IND at JAC
FanDuel = $7,300
DraftKings = $6,900

Mack received the benefit of facing the Panthers last week, rushing 16 times for 95 yards and a touchdown. The 16 carries were his most in a game since Week 10 and the touchdown marked his third score across his last four contests. This is another great matchup since the Jaguars have allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns in the league. The last time these two teams met, Mack rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.

RUNNING BACK GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - Quarterbacks and Running Backs

Miles Sanders, PHI at NYG
FanDuel = $7,400
DraftKings = $6,800

Sanders wasn’t given consistent carries to start the season, but all that changed when Jordan Howard (shoulder) went down in Week 9. Sanders has received at least 11 carries in each of the team’s six games since, including at least 15 carries in each of their last four contests. On top of that, he has been targeted in the passing game at least four times in each game. The Giants are tied for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns allowed, so don’t be surprised if Sanders has another big performance here.

Carlos Hyde, HOU vs. TEN
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $5,000

Hyde was faced with a tough matchup last week against the Bucs, who have one of the better rushing defenses in the league. They held him to just 27 yards on 17 carries, but he did somewhat salvage his afternoon with a rushing touchdown. The key was the 17 carries. Even with Duke Johnson in the fold, the Texans continue to rely heavily on Hyde to lead their ground attack. Considering he just had 104 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Titans two weeks ago, taking a chance on Hyde at this price could pay off.

Adrian Peterson, WAS at DAL
FanDuel = $6,300
DraftKings = $4,900

The Redskins losing Derrius Guice to yet another knee injury has opened up an opportunity for Peterson to once again be the team’s leading running back. While he hasn’t been overly efficient, he has produced a rushing touchdown in four straight games. He received at least 13 carries in each of those contests, rushing for at least 66 yards three times. With the Cowboys tied for the ninth-most rushing touchdowns allowed, Peterson has a favorable opportunity to find his way into the end zone once again.
