NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 2 – TE & DEF/ST

Our last deep dive of Week 2 in the NFL brings us to tight ends and defenses/specials teams. While not the sexiest of positions, they can be the difference between just coming in the money and taking home one of the larger prizes. Let’s highlight some of the better options that stand out. TIGHT END CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 2 - TE & DEF/ST

Travis Kelce, KC at OAK
FanDuel = $8,000
DraftKings = $7,300

Kelce could be included in this section just about every week. While he only hauled in three of his eight targets in Week 1, he did finish with 88 yards. The volume of targets was the key and he could be relied upon even more so now that Tyreek Hill (collarbone) is on the shelf. He destroyed the Raiders in two meetings last season, totaling 17 receptions, 230 yards and two touchdowns. Don’t be surprised if he goes off again in this contest.

George Kittle, SF at CIN
FanDuel = $7,100
DraftKings = $6,800

Kittle’s overall line last week wasn’t great. Despite a favorable matchup against a porous Bucs’ defense, he finished with only 54 receiving yards. However, the important stat was his 10 targets. He also could have had a much better performance had two touchdowns not been called back due to penalties. Expect him to continue to lead the team in targets, making him one of the safer tight ends to bank on.

TIGHT END GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 2 - TE & DEF/ST

Delanie Walker, TEN vs. IND
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $3,500

The Titans had one of the more surprising performances of the week, routing the Browns on the road, 43-13. Not known as a team with that type of offensive firepower, quarterback Marcus Mariota ended up throwing for three scores. Walker was on the receiving end of two of them, finishing with five receptions and 55 yards, as well. As long as he stays healthy, Walker carries tremendous upside into most matchups based on him being one of the top receiving options on the Titans.

Darren Waller, OAK vs. KC
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $3,300

With Antonio Brown gone, the Raiders are going to have to get creative with their receivers. Tyrell Williams should see an increased workload while Waller will also assume a larger role within the offense. Case in point, he received eight targets in the season opener against the Broncos. He made the most of his opportunities, posting seven receptions for 70 yards. The Raiders will likely have to throw a lot to keep up with the Chiefs, making Waller one of the top options when you also factor in his reasonable price tag on both sites.

DEF/ST CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 2 - TE & DEF/ST

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $3,700

This one feels like a layup. The Dolphins were smoked by the Ravens, scoring only 10 points in their embarrassing Week 1 defeat. They are lacking talent at wide receiver, traded away their best offensive lineman and have the turnover-prone Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback. Need I say more?

Chicago Bears at Denver Broncos
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,900

The Bears’ defense did their job, holding the Packers to 10 points at home. That’s no easy feat against a team that has Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Aaron Jones among their offensive weapons. Now they get to face Joe Flacco and the Broncos, who could only muster up 16 points against a Raiders’ defense that doesn’t have talent at anywhere near the level that the Bears do. If you want to fade the Patriots, the Bears are the next best cash option.

DEF/ST GPP TARGET

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 2 - TE & DEF/ST

Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $2,700

As good as the Bears’ defense looked, their offense was flat out awful against the Packers. Mitchell Trubisky couldn’t get anything going, completing only 57.8 percent of his passes for 228 yards and an interception. Despite an uninspiring performance in which they allowed 24 points to the Raiders, the Broncos are at least worth considering with this game being at home. I want no part of them on FanDuel since the Bears can be had for the same price, but their significant discount on DraftKings is what puts them in the discussion for tournaments.
