NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 6 – TE & DEF/ST

Week 6 brings an interesting group of tight end options. While there are some of the top-tier players available, you might not necessarily need to pay up at the position to get excellent production. Let’s dive into the matchups and discuss some of the better ones to target, as well as some defenses/special teams worth considering. TIGHT END CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 6 - TE & DEF/ST

Austin Hooper, ATL at ARI
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $5,000

Have we finally reached Hooper’s breakout campaign? It sure looks like it through the first five weeks with him accumulating 34 receptions for 363 yards and two touchdowns. The key is that he has already received 42 targets, compared to 88 in 16 games last year. The Cardinals have had problems stopping the pass, in general, but they have been especially torched by tight ends this year, making Hooper one of the most appealing tight end options for this slate.

Will Dissly, SEA at CLE
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $4,900

Dissly has emerged as one of the primary pass-catching options for the Seahawks, catching 23 of 26 targets for 262 yards and four touchdowns. His snap rate is rising rapidly, topping out at 89.2 percent in Week 5. He is also tied for second on the team with five red zone targets. The Browns have allowed 10 touchdowns through the air, leaving Dissly with an excellent chance to find the end zone once again.

TIGHT END GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 6 - TE & DEF/ST

Gerald Everett, LAR vs. SF
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $3,600

Everett was mostly an afterthought in the Rams’ offense last year, catching 33 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns. He’s already racked up 18 catches for 223 yards this season, including a monster performance versus the Seahawks last week in which he had seven catches for 136 yards. While that performance has inflated his numbers, the key stat is that he has received at least eight targets in both of his last two games. He’s also played at least 71.4 percent of their offensive snaps in three of their five games. There is some risk here considering how well the 49ers have played on defense and his price isn’t great on FanDuel, but Everett at least makes for a viable tournament option on DraftKings.

Jason Witten, DAL at NYJ
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $3,900

Witten wasn’t expected to play a huge role on the Cowboys after coming out of retirement, but he’s been on the field for at least 66.2 percent of their offensive snaps in four of five games. He has received exactly four targets in all five contests and leads the team with six red zone targets. The Cowboys should be able to score against the Jets’ banged-up defense, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Witten record a touchdown.

DEF/ST CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 6 - TE & DEF/ST

Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,300

The good news for the Jets is that Sam Darnold (mono) will be back for this game. The bad news is that he has to play behind an offensive line that has allowed a league-high 23 sacks. It won’t make things any easier for him that the Cowboys have allowed only three passing touchdowns all season. In a week where there aren’t a ton of great defense/special teams options, the Cowboys stand out as a team that should be among the most popular, and rightfully so.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,100

Speaking of porous offensive lines, the Bengals have allowed 20 sacks in the early going. That could provide a big boost for the Ravens, who enter this contest with only nine sacks this season. The Bengals are still missing A.J. Green (ankle) and John Ross (shoulder) at wide receiver, leaving them without two of their more dangerous offensive weapons. Add in this game being played in Baltimore and the Ravens carry plenty of upside.

DEF/ST GPP TARGET

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 6 - TE & DEF/ST

Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,100

If you’re looking for sack, you probably won’t get many from the Broncos since they are tied for the fewest (five) in the league. On the plus side, they have only allowed four passing touchdowns. The Titans have been one of the more inconsistent offenses this season, in large part because of Marcus Mariota. Although he hasn’t thrown an interception yet, he has recorded one or no passing touchdowns in three of five games. For those looking to fade the Cowboys, the Broncos are at least a cost-effective option to consider.
