NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 9 – Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

We have some strange pricing at the wide receiver spot for Week 9. On DraftKings, two of the three most expensive wide outs play for the same team. Over on FanDuel, the top two most expensive options are on the same squad. Let’s take a deeper dive into the position and also discuss some tight ends to target. WIDE RECEIVER CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 9 - Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Chris Godwin, TB at SEA
FanDuel = $8,200
DraftKings = $7,300

Godwin and his teammate Mike Evans are the two most expensive wide receivers on FanDuel. They both have the potential to put up a monster game whenever they step onto the field and last week was Evans’ turn. He destroyed the Titans, catching 11 of 12 targets for 198 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Godwin caught four of eight targets for only 43 yards. The good news with Godwin is that before that performance, he had totaled at least 100 receiving yards in four of his previous five games. With no shortage of targets likely coming his way Sunday, he’s a great option facing a Seahawks team that has allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game in the league.

Kenny Golladay, DET at OAK
FanDuel = $7,600
DraftKings = $7,700

Golladay has been all over the place in terms of his production this season. He has three games with at least 100 receiving yards, one of which came last week versus the Giants. However, he also has three games in which he tallied 42 yards or fewer. Overall, he has 55 targets through seven games and has already set a new career high with six touchdowns. The Raiders have allowed the third-most passing yards per game, so look for this one to be one Golladay’s finer performances.

WIDE RECEIVER GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 9 - Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

DK Metcalf, SEA vs. TB
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $5,700

Metcalf only tallied 13 yards on his three receptions last week, but he made the most of them with two going for touchdowns. Metcalf leads the Seahawks with 11 red zone target this season, four of which have come across the last two games. It’s no coincidence that tight end Will Dissly (Achilles) didn’t play in either of those contests. With the Bucs allowing the second-most passing yards per game, the Seahawks could be in a position to score plenty in this contest, as well.

Tyrell Williams, OAK vs. DET
FanDuel = $6,300
DraftKings = $5,900

After sitting out two games with a foot injury, Williams made his return last week against the Texans. He was once again busy with six targets, catching three of them for 91 yards and a touchdown. He’s now scored a touchdown in all five games in which he has played this season and has received at least six targets in four of those contests. With the lack of weapons around him, don’t expect his target share to decline anytime soon.

Demaryius Thomas, NYJ at MIA
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,000

Thomas has been heavily involved lately, receiving 27 targets across his last four games. He caught 16 of them, leaving him with at least 42 receiving yards in each contest. It’s disappointing that he still doesn’t have a touchdown, but this is still a matchup that works in his favor, especially after the Dolphins lost cornerback Xavien Howard (knee) on Monday. If you’re looking for a really cheap option in tournament play, rolling with Thomas might not be a crazy idea.

TIGHT END CASH TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 9 - Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Darren Waller, OAK vs. DET
FanDuel = $6,800
DraftKings = $6,300

Outside of Williams, there isn’t really anyone to compete with Waller for targets on the Raiders. That’s helped lead to a breakout campaign in which he has caught 46 of 58 targets for 496 yards and three touchdowns. To put that into perspective, Zach Ertz has 37 catches on 64 targets for 424 yards and one touchdown for the Eagles. With the Lions allowing the most passing yards per game, Waller stands out among the crowd at tight end this week.

Hunter Henry, LAC vs. GB
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $6,000

To say the Chargers missed Henry would be an understatement. He’s been immediately thrust into a prominent role since returning from injury, catching 22 of 28 targets for 304 yards and two touchdowns across four games. The Chargers could be fighting an uphill battle to keep up with the red-hot Packers, which may force them to throw the ball a lot. Expect Henry to provide a high floor once again.

TIGHT END GPP TARGETS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 9 - Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

Chris Herndon, NYJ at MIA
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,000

Herndon has still yet to make his season debut. After sitting out the first four games due to a suspension, he developed hamstring injury when he first returned to practice. He seems to be making progress, so he might be worth a flier in tournament play if he suits up against the underwhelming Dolphins’ defense.

Dallas Goedert, PHI vs. CHI
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $3,100

While Ertz is the sexy name on the Eagles at tight end, don’t forget about Goedert. He doesn’t receive nearly the amount of targets that Ertz’s does on a regular basis, but he has scored a touchdown in three of his last five games. DeSean Jackson (abdomen) might be limited even if he does return for this matchup, so look for the Eagles to continue to rely heavily on their tight ends this week.
