NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

There isn’t much to get excited about in the NBA on Thursday with just three games on the schedule. That also makes for fewer cheap value plays than normal, so we’ll have to extend our price range a bit in an effort to come up with a winning entry. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

Dennis Smith Jr., NY at ATL
FanDuel = $7,800
DraftKings = $6,500

Smith is shooting an unsightly 39.8 percent from the field across six games with the Knicks, but his 28.1 percent usage rate has still enabled him to average 16.7 points. With how gutted the Knicks roster is at this point, expect him to continue to receive all of the shots that he can handle. He hasn’t just been a scorer, either, with averages of 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals during that stretch. The Hawks play at the fastest pace (104.7 possessions per game) in the league, leaving Smith with another great opportunity to be productive.

Kadeem Allen, NY at ATL
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $4,200

Smith’s backup has been Allen since Emmanuel Mudiay (shoulder) and Frank Ntilikina (groin) have been sidelined with injuries. Allen has certainly made the most of his opportunity, averaging 17.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and two steals across his last three games. If both Mudiay and Ntilikina are unable to play in this game, Allen could provide excellent value considering the Hawks’ up-tempo pace and defensive struggles.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

Terrence Ross, ORL vs. CHA
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,200

Ross threw up a dud of a performance Tuesday against the Pelicans, scoring just three points on 1-of-7 shooting. However, he only played 18 minutes due to the lopsided score, so it’s hard to be too worried about one bad performance. Before that, he had averaged 19.4 points and 4.9 rebounds across his previous nine games. Even though he doesn’t provide many defensive stats, his scoring prowess leaves him with upside at this price.

Deonte Burton, OKC at NO
FanDuel = $3,700
DraftKings = $3,600

The Thunder are going to be shorthanded again Thursday with Dennis Schroder (personal) and Jerami Grant (ankle) listed as out. That’s not good news for a team that doesn’t have a ton of depth, to begin with. With both players sidelined Monday against the Blazers, Burton played 26 minutes and scored 18 points to go along with three blocks. At near the minimum price on both sites, he might be worth taking a chance on in tournament play since both of these teams are in the top-six in pace of play.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

Jonathan Isaac, ORL vs. CHA
FanDuel = $6,800
DraftKings = $5,800

Isaac is rolling as we head into the break, averaging 12.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.3 blocks across his last 12 games. He’s a big part of the Magic’s future, so it’s no surprise that he averaged 29 minutes a game during that stretch. With his ability to contribute on the defensive end, he can provide a lot of value when he’s contributing as many points and rebounds as he has been lately, as well.

Kevin Knox, NY at ATL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $4,900

After playing at least 34 minutes in six straight games, Knox only spent 19 minutes on the floor Wednesday against the Sixers. The reason was not due to poor play, but due to foul trouble as he racked up five of them in his limited playing time. He’s one of the best offensive weapons the Knicks have left, so as long as he can stay on the floor Thursday, this is a great spot for him to provide a bounce-back performance against the Hawks.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

John Collins, ATL vs. NY
FanDuel = $8,200
DraftKings = $7,700

Collins is certainly not cheap, but I’m not overly excited about the majority of cheap options at power forward. Therefore, it might be worth paying up to get him into your entry. He’s thrived in the Hawks style of play, averaging 19.9 points and 8.3 rebounds over his last 15 games. This is a great matchup for him against a Knicks team that allows the second-most rebounds per game (48.1) in the league.

Marvin Williams, CHA at ORL
FanDuel = $5,700
DraftKings = $4,600

Williams can be a bit of a volatile option. Case in point, he scored 27 points against the Hawks on Saturday, but that was sandwiched between two five-point performances. The good news is that he gets plenty of playing time and is averaging a career-high two three-pointers per game this season. He’s also a solid source for rebounds, making him one of the few cheaper players to consider at power forward.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/14/19

Cody Zeller, CHA at ORL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $4,800

Zeller was eased back into action after missing time with a hand injury, but he’s since returned to the starting five. Over four total games since his return from the sidelines, he’s been productive with averages of 10.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and two assists. Even though he has a tough defensive assignment trying to slow down Nikola Vucevic, Zeller still has plenty of appeal for this small slate.

Mitchell Robinson, NY at ATL
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,100

With the Knicks being defeated handily by the Sixers on Wednesday, Robinson was able to log 28 minutes. He made his presence felt with 14 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and four blocks. That continued an excellent stretch for him that has seen him average 12.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks across his last five games. His role with the second unit is secure moving forward, making him a very intriguing option against the Hawks.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

The hot topic in the NBA is Thursday’s trade deadline. Some keys moves have already been made with potentially more in the works. While we wait to see things unfold, we have seven games to select cheap value plays from Wednesday. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

Bryn Forbes, SA at GS
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,300

The Spurs are the poster child for cheap value plays Wednesday. Not only will they be missing three players from their depth chart, but they are three of their best ones in DeMar DeRozan (rest), LaMarcus Aldridge (rest) and Derrick White (heel). On the offensive end, those three average a combined 52.1 points per game. Forbes’ average of 12.1 points per game ranks fourth on the team behind DeRozan, Aldridge and Rudy Gay (14.2), so expect him to see more shot attempts in this game.

Patty Mills, SA at GS
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,200

Mills enters this contest having averaged 13.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and one steal across his last seven games. He can score in bunches, so he too should be tasked with helping to offset the absences of DeRozan and Aldridge. The Warriors play at the 10th-fastest pace (101.8 possessions per game) in the league, which should also help increase Mills’ upside.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

Malik Beasley, DEN at BKN
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $5,700

The Nuggets have already ruled out Gary Harris (groin) on Wednesday, which should leave Beasley with another start. They could also be without Jamal Murray (ankle) and Paul Millsap (ankle), who are both listed as questionable. With Beasley averaging 20.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals across his last seven games, look for him to once again cash in on his added playing time.

Marco Belinelli, SA at GS
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,000

The veteran Belinelli is only averaging 22 minutes a game, which would be his lowest mark since the 2014-15 season. Ironically, that was the final season of his first stint with the Spurs. His overall numbers don’t stand out, but he has been more productive lately by averaging 14.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists across his last 13 games. Despite his lack of defensive contributions, he’s yet another Spur worth considering in tournament play.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

Darius Miller, NO at CHI
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,800

The Pelicans have the ability to change the landscape of the league by trading away Anthony Davis (finger). While they continue to field offers, they’ve kept Davis on the sidelines despite a recent report that he’s healthy enough to play. With Davis, Nikola Mirotic (calf), Julius Randle (ankle), Elfrid Payton (ankle) and E’Twaun Moore (quadriceps) all potentially out again, Miller should receive plenty of playing time. That’s key considering the Pelicans play at the sixth-fastest pace (103.1).

Davis Bertans, SA at GS
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,100

Yes, I’ve mentioned a lot of Spurs. But their situation Wednesday presents an opportunity to pounce on. Bertans already started their last game Monday against the Kings and scored 11 points to go along with eight rebounds, two assists and a steal. In another start last week against the Suns, he recorded 18 points, five assists, four steals and a block. It’s hard to pass him up at this cheap price on both sites.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

Marvin Williams, CHA at DAL
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,900

The Hornets looked to be closing in on a trade for Marc Gasol on Tuesday, but that deal has reportedly fallen apart. The two teams might still try to make a deal work, which could have a significant impact on the Hornets’ depth chart Wednesday. As long as Williams isn’t dealt, he’s someone to target against a Mavericks team that has very little size up front after their trade with the Knicks.

Kenrich Williams, NO at CHI
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $5,000

As long as the Pelicans remain shorthanded, Williams is a great option to consider. He’s logged at least 30 minutes in each of their last four games, which helped him to average 12.3 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one block during that stretch. The Bulls are about as big of a dumpster fire as there is in the league right now, so expect Williams to at least approach a double-double again in this contest.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/6/19

Mason Plumlee, DEN at BKN
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,400

Plumlee started in place of Millsap against the Pistons on Monday and came through with 15 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals across 33 minutes. That leaves him with averages of 10.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists over four games in which he has played at least 30 minutes. Even if Millsap does return, Plumlee could provide value in a bench role since the Nets allow the second-most DraftKings points per game and the third-most FanDuel points per game to opposing centers.

Jakob Poeltl, SA at GS
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $3,200

Ok, this is the final player on the Spurs that I’ll talk about. I promise. With Aldridge out, Pau Gasol and Poeltl will be left to carry the load at center. Gasol has logged at least 20 minutes in a game only two times over the last month, so don’t expect him to all of a sudden spend a ton of time on the floor. If this game were to be a blowout, that would also work in Poeltl’s favor since Gasol would likely be on the bench a lot in the second half. At such a cheap price, Poeltl could be a difference maker in tournament play.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

Tuesday’s eight-game schedule in the NBA brings plenty of cheaper value play options, especially with teams like the Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Clippers and Celtics all battling injuries. Let’s highlight a couple of players at each position who stand out as having favorable matchups. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

Jerryd Bayless, MIN at MEM
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $5,400

Well, Derrick Rose’s (ankle) return from injury was certainly brief. He played 20 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday but has already been ruled out for this game against the Grizzlies. Tyus Jones (ankle) is out, as well, and Jeff Teague (foot) is listed as doubtful, so expect Bayless to once again receive all of the playing time that he can handle. He’s cashed in his added minutes lately, averaging 15.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, eight assists and one steal across his last six games.

Patrick Beverley, LAC at CHA
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,200

The Clippers will once again be without the services of Danilo Gallinari (back), although it appears his return is on the horizon. Beverley has played well filling in for him in the starting five, averaging 11 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals across his last nine games. With the Clippers playing at the ninth-fastest pace (102.1 possessions per game) in the league, the added playing time should once again leave Beverley with value.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

Dennis Schroder, OKC vs. ORL
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,800

The Thunder still don’t have a very deep roster, but the addition of Schroder over the summer has been huge for them. A fixture of the Hawks starting five the last two seasons, Schroder is averaging 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game despite coming off of the bench for the majority of this year. The key is that he’s still averaging 29 minutes a game to go along with the third-highest usage rate (25.1 percent) on the team. Schroder had plenty of success when these two teams squared off last week, scoring 21 points to go along with three rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes.

Jaylen Brown, BOS at CLE
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $4,900

The first name that likely comes to mind whenever Kyrie Irving (hip) is out is Terry Rozier. He’s certainly a great option since Irving won’t play in this game, but he’s not overly cheap. Brown, on the other hand, has a juicy price tag on both sites. Across the last five games that Irving has missed, Brown has averaged 20.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and one steal. That included a matchup with these same Cavaliers when he scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds in 25 minutes. He stands out as one of the best value plays of the night.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

Jonathan Isaac, ORL at OKC
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,300

Isaac is finally starting to show signs of why the Magic think so highly of him. He’s seen a slight increase in playing time lately, which has helped him average 10.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.9 blocks across his last seven games. The Magic don’t play at a fast pace, but they’ll need to speed things up Tuesday to keep up with the Thunder, who play at the third-fastest pace (103.9). The last time these two teams met, Isaac had a nice all-around line with 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and a block.

Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. LAC
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $5,100

Batum has been more involved offensively, of late, which helped him average 12.5 points across his last eight games. The increase in scoring leaves him with upside considering he also averaged 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.9 steals and one block during that stretch. His value could be impacted significantly if the Hornets make any moves leading up to the trade deadline, but for Tuesday, he’s at least someone to consider in DFS.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

Larry Nance Jr., CLE vs. BOS
FanDuel = $6,300
DraftKings = $5,800

The Cavaliers won’t have much depth up front for this game with Kevin Love (toe), Tristan Thompson (foot) and Cedi Osman (ankle) all out. They also suffered a blow to their offense when Rodney Hood was traded to the Blazers over the weekend. With so little talent around him, Nance, who is coming off of consecutive double-doubles, has a chance to shine despite this being a tough matchup against the Celtics.

Marvin Williams, CHA vs. LAC
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,900

Williams hasn’t been shy about shooting from behind the arc, which has resulted in him averaging a career-high 5.2 three-point attempts per game. He’s made an average of two of them per contest, which has provided a significant boost to his offensive upside. He’s no slouch in the rebounding department, either, with 5.5 boards a night. The first time these two teams met, Williams scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him provide similar production in their rematch.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 2/5/19

Ivica Zubac, LAL at IND
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,600

Zubac (finger) is listed as probable for this game with the only caveat being his name has been mentioned in trade rumors. With how aggressive the Lakers plan to be on that front, it will be important to monitor for news throughout the day. If no deal is made and Zubac does play Tuesday, he does make for an intriguing option. His price has actually come down a bit lately, but he was still just one rebound shy of a double-double in his last game Saturday against the Warriors.

Boban Marjanovic, LAC at CHA
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $3,500

After spending a lot of time riding the pine, Marjanovic has reappeared for the Clippers. He’s taken the floor in each of their last three games and averaged 10.3 points, eight rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes per contest. We’ve seen this before, so there’s a chance he might not even play Tuesday. However, with how quickly he can fill up the stat sheet, he might be worth taking a chance on in tournament play.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

Monday doesn’t bring a ton of action in the NBA with only five games on the schedule. However, with so many teams dealing with injuries, there are actually a lot of cheaper value plays worth considering. Here are a couple at each position who could provide value. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

Shabazz Napier, BKN at BOS
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,600

The Nets are in a tough spot with Caris LeVert (foot) and Spencer Dinwiddie (thumb) on the shelf. To make matters worse, Joe Harris (hip) is listed as questionable for Monday. They don’t have much of a choice but to give Napier more playing time. He logged 28 minutes against the Knicks on Friday and he finished with 18 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal. His final line could have been even better if he wasn’t just 3-for-13 from the field. This isn’t a great matchup against a good Celtics’ defense, but Napier’s increased role warrants adding him to your lineup.

Trey Burke, NY at CHA
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,200

The Knicks are dealing with their own injury issues. Emmanuel Mudiay (shoulder) is already hurt and now Frank Ntilikina (groin) went down Sunday. With such a quick turnaround, don’t expect him to play in this contest. Burke is one of the few healthy point guards they have left, so expect him to receive more playing time in this matchup. He’s already scored at least 16 points in both games since Mudiay went down, so he could provide value at his cheap price on both sites.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

Allonzo Trier, NY at CHA
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,300

Recommending players on the Knicks can be tricky. They change their rotations so often that it’s hard to get a gauge on what they are going to do on a nightly basis. However, the injuries to Mudiay and Ntilikina help to provide a bit of stability because, frankly, they are running out of options. Trier has shown he can be productive when given added playing time by averaging 14.3 points, four rebounds and 2.3 assists across 23 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes.

Avery Bradley, LAC vs. ATL
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $3,700

The Clippers will likely be shorthanded again Monday with the expectation that Danilo Gallinari (back) will remain on the sidelines. That’s good news for Bradley, who has averaged 13 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.8 steals across the first five games that Gallinari missed. His upside might not be off the charts, but he’s priced really cheap on both sites and has a great matchup against a Hawks team that plays at the fastest pace (105.2 possessions per game) in the league.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. GS
FanDuel = $5,700
DraftKings = $5,600

The Pacers are a good defensive team, but this game could get ugly against the Warriors. The loss of Victor Oladipo (knee) puts them in a huge hole offensively, especially since they are already averaging just 108.9 points per game. To put that into perspective, the Warriors are averaging 118.8 points per contest. Bogdanovic is going to need to fire away to keep this game close and should get plenty of opportunities to do so. He already scored 21 points against the Grizzlies on Saturday and averaged 19.4 points per game earlier this season when Oladipo missed 11 straight games.

Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. NY
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,900

Batum is having an off year with averages of 9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He’s shooting 46.4 percent from the field, but it’s not easy to provide a lot of offense when you have a 13.2 percent usage rate. On a positive note, Batum is averaging 14.5 points, five rebounds and 3.3 assists over his last four games. That’s even more impressive when you consider two of those games came against tough defensive teams in the Pacers and Grizzlies. He likely won’t be met with the same resistance Monday since the Knicks allow the fourth-most points per game (115.3) in the league.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

Marvin Williams, CHA vs. NY
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $5,300

The Knicks have started to use Lance Thomas at power forward, so their shift to a small lineup could prove beneficial for Williams. Williams has really improved from behind the arc during his tenure in the league and is averaging a career-high two three-pointers per contest this season. He’s also had some access in two previous matchups against the Knicks with averages of 16.5 points, five rebound and one steal.

Marcus Morris, BOS vs. BKN
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,900

Morris’ shot was off again Saturday as he hit just three of his 12 attempts against the Warriors. That performance has left him 26-for-77 (33.8 percent) from the field across his last seven games. The good news is that he’s still getting plenty of shot attempts and averaged 6.1 rebounds per game during that stretch. If he can correct his shot Monday, he could prove to be valuable. Avoid him in cash games, but deploying him in tournament play might not be a crazy idea.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/28/19

Mitchell Robinson, NY at CHA
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,100

Enes Kanter’s days with the Knicks appear to be numbered. He hasn’t played in any of their last three games and he hasn’t been shy about voicing his displeasure with that. Since Luke Kornet (ankle) is out, that has left a more secure role off the bench for Robinson. Even though he still isn’t playing a ton of minutes, he’s managed to average eight points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.8 blocks across his last four games. This is a great opportunity to roster him against the Hornets, who allow the sixth-most DraftKings points per game and the 10th-most FanDuel points per game to opposing centers.

Mason Plumlee, DEN at MEM
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $3,900

Whether he starts or comes off of the bench, Plumlee is not someone to ignore in DFS. After scoring 16 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in a spot start for Nikola Jokic on Friday against the Suns, he followed that up with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block coming off of the bench Saturday against the Sixers. This game has some blowout potential, which could lead to more minutes for Plumlee. At an even cheaper price than Robinson, he is also someone to consider at center.

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

*Mike Barner — @rotomikebarner*

The NBA doesn’t let up Tuesday with eight more games on the schedule. With the combination of a busy slate and plenty of injuries throughout the league, we have some great value play options to consider. Don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter and try our NBA Lineup Optimizer to help build a winning entry on FanDuel and DraftKings.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

T.J. McConnell, PHI vs. WAS
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,300

McConnell continues to provide excellent defensive contributions by averaging 1.5 steals across his last 20 games. His scoring numbers aren’t always there, but his steals and assists still make him someone to consider. This also stands out as an excellent matchup for him with both the Sixers and the Wizards in the top-nine in the league in pace of play.

De’Anthony Melton, PHO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,100

Devin Booker (back) didn’t practice Monday after having to leave Sunday’s game against the Hornets. Melton was forced to play 26 minutes in that contest and finished with five points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. If Booker is unable to play, Melton has some upside against a Kings team that plays at the second-fastest pace (104.9 possessions per game). Even if Booker is able to give it a go, Melton might be worth a look in tournament play based on the Suns’ overall lack of depth at point guard.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Dwyane Wade, MIA vs. DEN
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,000

Wade might be in the twilight of his career, but don’t sleep on him Tuesday. He comes into this game playing well, averaging 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and four assists across his last nine games. With Goran Dragic (knee) out, Wade should continue to see added opportunities to help facilitate the Heat’s offense. This isn’t necessarily a great matchup against a tough Nuggets’ defense, but Wade is still priced low enough on both sites to warrant consideration.

Josh Okogie, MIN at OKC
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300

It’s going to be important to monitor the Timberwolves’ rotations over their next few games with Tom Thibodeau out as their head coach. Thibodeau was notorious for having short rotations and riding his starters for heavy minutes, so there could be a few players that have significant swings in value. The good news for Tuesday from a minutes projection perspective is that both Derrick Rose (ankle) and Robert Covington (ankle) have already been ruled out. Okogie could receive another starting nod, as a result. Across 10 previous starts, he has averaged 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and one steal.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

DeAndre’ Bembry, ATL at TOR
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,600

Another team battling various injuries is the Hawks, who will be without Taurean Prince (ankle) and Kent Bazemore (ankle) for this matchup against the Raptors. Bembry has been forced into more playing time of late and has come through with averages of 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, two assists, and 1.1 steals across his last seven games. Even though this will be a tough task against a good defensive team, the Hawks play at the fastest pace (105.5) in the league, leaving Bembry with some upside based on his expanded role.

Otto Porter Jr., WAS at PHI
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $5,600

Porter stands out as a great cheap option, especially on FanDuel. He hasn’t played more than 24 minutes in any of his three games since returning from injury, but that hasn’t stopped him from averaging 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 steals across his last two contests. This game should be played at a fast pace and Porter is said to have no minute’s restriction, further making a case to roll with him in your entry.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Marvin Williams, CHA at LAC
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,300

Williams’ averages for the season aren’t really anything to get overly excited about. However, he’s heated up after a slow start, averaging 13.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and one steal across his last 10 games. He’s been especially hot from behind the arc, draining at least two three-pointers in a game eight times during that stretch. The Clippers allow the seventh-most points per game (114.3) in the league, setting up Williams with a favorable opportunity to continue his recent run of success.

Josh Jackson, PHO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,900

If Booker doesn’t play in this game, Jackson is another option who could stand to benefit from his absence. Jackson has had a hard time finding consistent playing time, but he’s averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, three assists, and one steal across 25 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 1/8/19

Willy Hernangomez, CHA at LAC
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $4,400

After Cody Zeller (hand) went down, the Hornets immediately turned to Hernangomez as their starting center. However, his stint in that role lasted just one game. He’s come off of the bench in two games since and has still been productive with averages of 14.5 points, seven rebounds, and 2.4 assists. The Clippers allowed the fifth-most FanDuel and DraftKings points per game to opposing centers, making Hernangomez a great cheap option to target.

Kevon Looney, GS vs. NY
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,000

I’m definitely in favor of rolling with Henrnangomez in your lineup if you want to save money at center. However, if your budget needs even more assistance, Looney could also be productive. The Knicks can’t stop anyone right now and continue to change their rotations up front, so it’s hard to establish any sort of rhythm defensively. Despite playing with so many stars around him, Looney has still managed to average 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last seven games.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 11/28/18

J.J. Barea, DAL at HOU
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $5,000

Barea is only averaging 20 minutes a game, but that hasn’t stopped him from being extremely productive. His 27.1 percent usage rate is actually the highest on the team, helping him average 10.9 points per contest. He also does a great job of facilitating the offense for their second unit with 5.8 assists per night. Both Dennis Smith Jr. (wrist) and Luka Doncic (illness) are listed as questionable, so Barea could be in line for a significant increase in playing time if either or both of them were unable to play. Even if they do take the floor, Barea is an appealing option at this price.

D.J. Augustin, ORL at POR
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,300

Augustin’s 15.4 percent usage rate isn’t great, but he’s still been able to average 10.3 points per game in large part because he is logging 27 minutes a night. The Magic don’t have any other viable options to start at point guard, which has also resulted in Augustin averaging 5.4 assists per contest. His upside isn’t great, but Augustin has a secure enough role to be worth considering in tournament play.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 11/28/18

Eric Gordon, HOU vs. DAL
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,800

The key to this game is the status of Chris Paul (hamstring). If he is forced to miss his third straight game, Gordon will once again be a part of the starting five. He’s thrived in that role this season, averaging 19.9 points and 3.4 rebounds across seven games. His usage rate is 25.2 percent as a starter, which is up from 22.3 percent as a member of the second unit. Gordon’s price has jumped up after a couple of great performances, but he’s still worth adding to your lineup if Paul sits.

Jordan Clarkson, CLE at OKC
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $5,100

Clarkson had a strange performance against the Timberwolves on Monday where he scored just four points on five shot attempts. Clarkson has a 28.6 percent usage rate and hadn’t attempted fewer than 10 shots in any previous game this year, so chalk it up as just one off night. The Cavaliers are going to need him to score in bunches to keep this game close against Russell Westbrook and company, so don’t be surprised if Clarkson has a bounce-back scoring effort.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 11/28/18

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. WAS
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $5,000

Moore was already an important part of the Pelicans success, but he became even more vital after they lost starting point guard Elfrid Payton (finger). Jrue Holiday has been assuming the point guard duties with Payton out, shifting Moore over to shooting guard. Although he might not get a lot of headlines, Moore is averaging 15.8 points per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the field. The last time these two teams met Saturday, Moore scored 19 points. Since both of these teams are in the top-six in the league in pace of play, expect Moore to have plenty of opportunities to score again during their rematch.

Jeff Green, WAS at NO
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $4,000

The Wizards are going to be shorthanded up front again with Dwight Howard (lower body) already ruled out. While Green doesn’t play the same position, he is still in line for added playing time. Green is also one of their better rebounders, averaging 5.2 rebounds in just 25 minutes a game. His scoring upside isn’t great, but this game should be played at a fast enough pace to make him someone to at least consider if you want to go really cheap at small forward.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 11/28/18

Marvin Williams, CHA vs. ATL
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,500

Williams is only averaging 25 minutes a game this season, but he’s logged at least 31 minutes in each of his last three games. That’s especially encouraging since the Michael Kidd-Gilchrist returned from injury Monday. Across five games in which Williams has logged at least 30 minutes, he is averaging 14 points. 8.2 rebounds, and one block. He’s also had plenty of success in two previous matchups against the Hawks, averaging 20 points and 10.5 rebounds.

Richaun Holmes, PHO at LAC
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $3,400

Holmes makes this list for the second straight night after scoring eight points to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks Tuesday against the Pacers. Over the last five games, Holmes is now averaging 10.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and two blocks. His role is secure as the primary backup to Deandre Ayton and the Clippers have some size up front with Montrezl Harrell, Marcin Gortat, and Boban Marjanovic, so expect Holmes to get enough playing time to provide value at this price.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 11/28/18

Tristan Thompson, CLE at OKC
FanDuel = $7,100
DraftKings = $6,300

Thompson isn’t overly cheap, but center is usually one of the tougher positions to fill in terms of value plays, especially on FanDuel.  Thompson continues to dominate the minutes in the middle for the Cavaliers and should be set there for a while with the news that Kevin Love (toe) isn’t eyeing a return until January. Facing Steven Adams isn’t exactly a walk in the park, but Thompson should at least be a threat to post a double-double Wednesday.

Cody Zeller, CHA vs. ATL
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,100

If you want a cheap play with significant upside, Zeller is not your man. However, he does have a relatively high floor with averages of 9.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest. The Hawks are not a good team by any stretch of the imagination, but they do have size up front with Dewayne Dedmon and Alex Len. When these two teams met Sunday, Zeller finished with seven points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block in 28 minutes.

Wednesday’s slate in the NBA is packed with nine games, giving you plenty of options for your DFS entry. We took a look at some of the overall excellent plays for Wednesday’s article on Sports Illustrated, but let’s now dive deeper into only the cheaper value plays that can help make you a winner.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Rajon Rondo, NO vs. MIL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $6,300

The addition of Rondo may have seemed unnecessary to some with Jrue Holiday already in the fold, but it doesn’t look like such a crazy move with his recent play. Over the last six games, Rondo has been excellent by averaging 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 11.5 assists per game. The Pelicans have scored the fourth-most points per game (110.7) and play at the sixth-fastest pace (102.4) in the league, so Rondo is getting a lot of chances to accumulate assists. Based on his recent play, he’s someone to consider Wednesday.

Milos Teodosic, LAC at ORL
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,900

The Clippers had high hopes for Teodosic leading them at point guard this season, but he only played two games before going down with a foot injury. He played 21 minutes in his return against the Toronto Raptors on Monday and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two-three-pointers. Shooting only 4-for-12 from the field, his line could have been much better if he wasn’t ice cold. He should play more minutes Wednesday against a Magic team that allows the second most fantasy points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing point guards. There is potential here with Teodosic.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Jeremy Lamb, CHA at HOU
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $5,400

Lamb started Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder as Nicolas Baum (elbow) was unable to play. He ended up playing 33 minutes and scored 14 points on 17 shots. The volume was encouraging even though his overall point total left something to be desired. Batum is listed as doubtful for Wednesday, so Lamb would likely get another start if he can’t go. Both the Hornets and Rockets are in the top-10 in the league in terms of pace of play, so this could be a high scoring game. If Lamb’s shot is falling, he could provide excellent value.

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. MIL
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,800

Moore has seen a lot of action for the Pelicans lately, logging at least 35 minutes in seven straight games. He had done that only once all season, so some of that has to do with Anthony Davis (groin) missing four of those seven games. Even so, Moore has been great offensively during that stretch, averaging 19.4 points and 3.6 three-pointers. Davis is questionable for Wednesday’s game, but Moore has likely earned himself more minutes even if Davis returns. At such a low price, he’s worth taking a chance on, especially if Davis doesn’t play.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

David Nwaba, CHI vs. UTA
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,100

The rebuilding Bulls may have found themselves a player in Nwaba. He provides a ton of energy off the bench and can contribute on both ends of the floor, something a team lacking overall talent desperately needs. Nwaba has earned himself more playing time and has cashed in the opportunity over his last three games, averaging 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 26 minutes per contest. Don’t expect him to lose any playing time if he keeps this up, so take a chance on him Wednesday based on his upside at this price. Of note, Nwaba is only small forward eligible on FanDuel as he is eligible at point guard and shooting guard on DraftKings.

Wilson Chandler, DEN at BOS
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,600

Chandler hasn’t played in four of the Nuggets last 11 games, so he may have fallen off of your radar. Although his numbers are way down this season, he’s played better over the last three games by averaging 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.0 three-pointers. The Celtics may be forced to go small Wednesday with both Al Horford (rest) and Marcus Morris (knee) out of action, which is a good fit for Chandler’s style of play. He’s not as bad as his early numbers indicate and now that he’s showing signs of coming out of his funk, he’s a viable option for your entry Wednesday.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Serge Ibaka, TOR at PHO
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,700

I’m not normally a big fan of Ibaka based on the regression he’s seen in the rebounding and blocks departments, but you can’t ignore his play of late. Entering Wednesday, he’s averaging 18.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks over his last five games. One of those games was against these same Suns when he scored 19 points to go along with six rebounds and three blocks, which is not very surprising considering how bad the Suns are. I’m willing to take a chance on him keeping his recent string of success going for at least one more game based on his opponent.

Marvin Williams, CHA at HOU
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,900

The Hornets finally received reinforcements up front Monday when Frank Kaminsky returned from an ankle injury. Williams still played big minutes though, scoring 18 points and grabbing seven rebounds in 32 minutes. This is a solid matchup for Williams on Wednesday against the Rockets as they like to go small and shoot three’s. Williams excels on the perimeter, averaging 1.7 three-pointers per game. The price is right to roll with him again in this game.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Steven Adams, OKC at IND
FanDuel = $6,900
DraftKings = $6,400

Adams continues to anchor the Thunder in the middle, averaging 18.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.0 steal over his last six games. He excelled in his first game against the Pacers earlier this season, posting 17 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. With the Thunder’s lack of depth, there is really no viable option behind Adams at center. With all the minutes he can handle again Wednesday, he makes a great option for your entry.

Aron Baynes, BOS vs. DEN
FanDuel = $3,600
DraftKings = $3,900

With Horford and Morris out, expect Baynes to start and play significant minutes in this game. Baynes started two games for Horford earlier this season, scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds in one of them. He’s played at least 23 minutes in seven games this season, averaging 8.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. He won’t cost you much, making him someone you should consider in tournament play.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Kemba Walker, CHA vs. CHI
FanDuel = $8,700
DraftKings = $8,100

The Hornets are off to a rough start this season, but Walker has continued to shine with averages of 22.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.3 three-pointers per game. He plays a ton as he hasn’t averaged less than 34 minutes per game since his rookie season, which gives him plenty of opportunities to produce. Friday brings a great matchup against a bad Bulls team that he destroyed for 47 points, six rebounds, five assists and five three-pointers earlier this season. The Bulls have the worst point differential (-11.2) in the league, making Walker an excellent option to help win you some money.

Rajon Rondo, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,900

Rondo is rounding into form of late, averaging 11.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists over his last four games. Not only will Rondo continue to rack up assists with excellent offensive players in Anthony Davis (groin), DeMarcus Cousins and Jrue Holiday around him, it also makes it so defenses can’t pay much attention to him. While he’s never going to be a significant scorer on this team, he can score enough to be a viable DFS option once you factor in his rebounds and assists.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Gary Harris, DEN at ORL
FanDuel = $6,900
DraftKings = $6,400

Harris was expected to be one of the main offensive weapons on the Nuggets this season, but he got off to a slow start by averaging only 12.4 points and 2.2 three-pointers over his first 12 games. He’s caught fire since, averaging 18.7 points and 2.8 three-pointers over his last 10 games. With Nikola Jokic (ankle) out of action, he should continue to see increased scoring chances. The Magic play at the sixth-fastest pace (102.7) in the league, so Harris could be a nice addition to your entry Friday based on his potential.

Dwyane Wade, CLE at IND
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,500

Wade struggled to produce Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings, but that’s been the outlier of late as he had averaged 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals in his previous five games. The Cavaliers have hit their stride with Wade moving to the second unit and have now won 13 consecutive games. The move has done wonders for Wade’s value as well as his usage rate as a member of the second unit is 25.5%, compared to 20.9% as a starter. Expect him to get back on track with a valuable line Friday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

LeBron James, CLE at IND
FanDuel = $12,000
DraftKings = $11,700

You don’t really need a whole lot of justification to include James in your entry on any given night. He has the ninth-best usage rate (30.3%) in the league and continues to run the offense as the Cavaliers have been a mess at point guard. In his previous game against the Pacers this season, James finished with 33 points, six rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block. He’s very expensive but should be worth it Friday.

Dante Cunningham, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $3,600

Cunningham has stepped up with Davis out of action, averaging 8.7 points and 9.0 rebounds over his last three games. Davis is questionable for Friday’s game, so get Cunningham in your lineup if he is unable to play. The Kings have moved to a smaller lineup of late, which would benefit Cunningham even further. If Davis is able to play, Cunningham is no longer an intriguing value play, so make sure you check on Davis’ status leading up to the game.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Zach Randolph, SAC at NO
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $5,900

The Kings have been one of the more frustrating teams in the league in terms of their rotations, but are finally starting to play Randolph extended minutes as he has played at least 31 minutes in three straight games. They’ve decided to go small with Willie Cauley-Stein (back) out, moving Randolph over to center. It’s worked so far as Randolph has averaged 21.7 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last three games. With Cauley-Stein out again Friday, Randolph could put up big numbers if he can avoid foul trouble defending DeMarcus Cousins.

Marvin Williams, CHA vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $3,900

The Hornets are really banged up in their frontcourt as Frank Kaminsky (ankle) and Cody Zeller (knee) will both be out Friday. With so little depth behind them, that means Williams and center Dwight Howard could be in for heavy workloads. Outside of Robin Lopez, the Bulls don’t have much size up front either as Cristiano Felicio has mostly fallen out of the rotation due to his struggles. Wiliams could potentially even see some time at backup center when the Bulls go small, making him someone you should consider at this price.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

DeMarcus Cousins, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $12,000
DraftKings = $11,800

If Davis is unable to play Friday, Cousins is another player who would see increased value. He exploded with Davis out Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets as he scored 40 points to go along with 22 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. This is his second meeting this season against his former team in the Kings and he crushed them the first time, scoring 41 points and grabbing 23 rebounds. It’s important to note that Davis did not play in that game either. He’s a virtual must-start Friday if Davis is out, but is still worth playing even if Davis does manage to return.

Jakob Poeltl, TOR at MEM
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,600

The Raptors clearly don’t want to give Jonas Valanciunas significant playing time as he is averaging a career-low 20 minutes per game. Poeltl is one of the players who has eaten up some of the center minutes of late, playing at least 19 minutes in three of his last four games. He’s done the most with his opportunity, averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in those three games. If you want to take a chance on a cheap center in tournament play, take a look at Poeltl.
