POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Kemba Walker, CHA vs. CHI
FanDuel = $8,700
DraftKings = $8,100

The Hornets are off to a rough start this season, but Walker has continued to shine with averages of 22.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.3 three-pointers per game. He plays a ton as he hasn’t averaged less than 34 minutes per game since his rookie season, which gives him plenty of opportunities to produce. Friday brings a great matchup against a bad Bulls team that he destroyed for 47 points, six rebounds, five assists and five three-pointers earlier this season. The Bulls have the worst point differential (-11.2) in the league, making Walker an excellent option to help win you some money.

Rajon Rondo, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,900

Rondo is rounding into form of late, averaging 11.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists over his last four games. Not only will Rondo continue to rack up assists with excellent offensive players in Anthony Davis (groin), DeMarcus Cousins and Jrue Holiday around him, it also makes it so defenses can’t pay much attention to him. While he’s never going to be a significant scorer on this team, he can score enough to be a viable DFS option once you factor in his rebounds and assists.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Gary Harris, DEN at ORL
FanDuel = $6,900
DraftKings = $6,400

Harris was expected to be one of the main offensive weapons on the Nuggets this season, but he got off to a slow start by averaging only 12.4 points and 2.2 three-pointers over his first 12 games. He’s caught fire since, averaging 18.7 points and 2.8 three-pointers over his last 10 games. With Nikola Jokic (ankle) out of action, he should continue to see increased scoring chances. The Magic play at the sixth-fastest pace (102.7) in the league, so Harris could be a nice addition to your entry Friday based on his potential.

Dwyane Wade, CLE at IND
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,500

Wade struggled to produce Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings, but that’s been the outlier of late as he had averaged 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals in his previous five games. The Cavaliers have hit their stride with Wade moving to the second unit and have now won 13 consecutive games. The move has done wonders for Wade’s value as well as his usage rate as a member of the second unit is 25.5%, compared to 20.9% as a starter. Expect him to get back on track with a valuable line Friday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

LeBron James, CLE at IND
FanDuel = $12,000
DraftKings = $11,700

You don’t really need a whole lot of justification to include James in your entry on any given night. He has the ninth-best usage rate (30.3%) in the league and continues to run the offense as the Cavaliers have been a mess at point guard. In his previous game against the Pacers this season, James finished with 33 points, six rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block. He’s very expensive but should be worth it Friday.

Dante Cunningham, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $3,600

Cunningham has stepped up with Davis out of action, averaging 8.7 points and 9.0 rebounds over his last three games. Davis is questionable for Friday’s game, so get Cunningham in your lineup if he is unable to play. The Kings have moved to a smaller lineup of late, which would benefit Cunningham even further. If Davis is able to play, Cunningham is no longer an intriguing value play, so make sure you check on Davis’ status leading up to the game.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Zach Randolph, SAC at NO
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $5,900

The Kings have been one of the more frustrating teams in the league in terms of their rotations, but are finally starting to play Randolph extended minutes as he has played at least 31 minutes in three straight games. They’ve decided to go small with Willie Cauley-Stein (back) out, moving Randolph over to center. It’s worked so far as Randolph has averaged 21.7 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last three games. With Cauley-Stein out again Friday, Randolph could put up big numbers if he can avoid foul trouble defending DeMarcus Cousins.

Marvin Williams, CHA vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $3,900

The Hornets are really banged up in their frontcourt as Frank Kaminsky (ankle) and Cody Zeller (knee) will both be out Friday. With so little depth behind them, that means Williams and center Dwight Howard could be in for heavy workloads. Outside of Robin Lopez, the Bulls don’t have much size up front either as Cristiano Felicio has mostly fallen out of the rotation due to his struggles. Wiliams could potentially even see some time at backup center when the Bulls go small, making him someone you should consider at this price.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

DeMarcus Cousins, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $12,000
DraftKings = $11,800

If Davis is unable to play Friday, Cousins is another player who would see increased value. He exploded with Davis out Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets as he scored 40 points to go along with 22 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. This is his second meeting this season against his former team in the Kings and he crushed them the first time, scoring 41 points and grabbing 23 rebounds. It’s important to note that Davis did not play in that game either. He’s a virtual must-start Friday if Davis is out, but is still worth playing even if Davis does manage to return.

Jakob Poeltl, TOR at MEM
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,600

The Raptors clearly don’t want to give Jonas Valanciunas significant playing time as he is averaging a career-low 20 minutes per game. Poeltl is one of the players who has eaten up some of the center minutes of late, playing at least 19 minutes in three of his last four games. He’s done the most with his opportunity, averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in those three games. If you want to take a chance on a cheap center in tournament play, take a look at Poeltl.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

De’Aaron Fox, SAC at CLE
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings – $4,600

The Kings continue to throw out head-scratching rotations as no player on the team is averaging more than 26 minutes per game. The silver lining is Fox is one of three players averaging 26 minutes, so at least he gets more run than most. While not outstanding, his numbers are respectable this season as he’s averaging 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 0.9 steals per game. The Cavaliers have had their problems defending points guards this season, so Fox has the potential to be productive in this game.

Shaun Livingston, GS at CHA
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,400

The Warriors have lost star point guard Stephen Curry (ankle) for at least two weeks, leaving Patrick McCaw (nose) and Livingston to cover his minutes. McCaw has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game, leaving Livingston with a potentially big role against the Hornets. Livingston has only played at least 20 minutes in a game once this season, but he was productive with 16 points, two rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Take a chance on him Wednesday.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. DEN
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,200

Moore is getting an excellent opportunity to thrive in New Orleans as he is averaging a career-high 31 minutes per game. He’s shown he can be an offensive weapon when given extended run as he is averaging 12.5 points and 1.7 three-pointers per game this season. He’s been even better of late though, scoring at least 16 points and hitting at least four three-pointers in four of his last five games. The Pelicans should be without Anthony Davis (groin) again Wednesday, leaving added shots on the table for Moore. The price is right to take a chance on him for your entry.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. DET
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,700

Speaking of frustrating rotations, Bucks coach Jason Kidd also throws out some perplexing combinations. He had played guard Jason Terry (calf) at least 18 minutes in three straight games entering Monday and it looked like it could have been four in a row had Terry not been injured in the contest. With Terry out Wednesday, Brogdon should pick up some of his minutes. With defenses having to focus on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe, and Khris Middleton, Brogdon might get a few more open looks in this game.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,800

Bogdanovic is quietly not only having the best season of his career, but he’s become a very valuable member of a Pacers team that has played better than many people expected. He’s getting an opportunity to produce as he is averaging career-highs in minutes (31) and shot attempts (10.9) per game. He’s been particularly lethal from behind the arc, shooting 44.5%. The Bulls really struggle defensively and are just a bad team in general at this point. Bogdanovic already scored 22 points and hit six three-pointers against them earlier this season, so another valuable performance may be in the works.

Dante Cunningham, NO vs. DEN
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $3,600

Cunningham has started the last two games with Anthony Davis (groin) on the shelf and has filled in admirably, averaging 9.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. He played 32 minutes in their last game Monday against the Warriors, marking only the fourth time this season that he has logged at least 30 minutes in a game. The Nuggets are also banged up with Paul Millsap (wrist) and Nikola Jokic (ankle) out, giving Cunningham a nice chance to provide value at a dirt cheap price.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Ersan Ilyasova, ATL at ORL
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,800

Injuries have already created added opportunity in Atlanta as several key members of the Hawks frontcourt will be out again Wednesday. Ilyasova showed what he can do with extended minutes as he scored 22 points and hit four-three pointers when he played 30 minutes in a game last week against the Cavaliers. While his last two games haven’t been great, he did just miss a double-double Saturday against the Nets. This could be a high-scoring game against a Magic team that plays at the sixth-fastest pace (102.8) in the league, so take a look at Ilyasova for your entry.

Bobby Portis, CHI at IND
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,700

Portis may be in for a reduction in play time soon as Nikola Mirotic (face) is getting close to returning. He’ll still be out Wednesday though, which is good news for Portis’ value. Portis provides an offensive punch off the bench for the Bulls as he has scored at least 10 points in four of his last six games. He had one of his best games earlier this season against these same Pacers when he scored 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Kris Dunn is actually the only player who plays significant minutes on the Bulls that has a higher usage rate than Portis’ 24.9%. As far as cheap options with upside go, Portis definitely makes the list Wednesday.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Mason Plumlee, DEN at NO
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $4,700

With Jokic injured, Plumlee has started both of the last two games for the Nuggets. While he only scored three points in his last game against the Dallas Mavericks, he showed his potential the prior game when he scored 12 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists Saturday against the Lakers. The Nuggets are going to need Plumlee to step up Wednesday against DeMarcus Cousins, so he could be in for significant minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble. With his passing ability, extended playing time could give him a big bump in value.

Bam Adebayo, MIA at SA
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,000

Noticing a trend here? It’s important to know which players are injured as their backups are usually priced cheap, but can provide excellent value when given an opportunity to play. Adebayo is another injury fill in as he’s playing more minutes with Hassan Whiteside (knee) sidelined. The Heat like to go small when they can with Whiteside out, but they likely won’t have that luxury Wednesday against a big Spurs front line. His upside isn’t that high, but he did record a double-double in 31 minutes earlier this season against the Timberwolves. If you’re filling out a tournament entry Wednesday, you might want to take a chance on Adebayo.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Russell Westbrook, OKC vs. MIN
FanDuel = $11,300
DraftKings = $11,400

Things are getting ugly in Oklahoma City as the Thunder are four games under .500. It’s still early, but they are currently on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Considering they added two All-Stars to their team, it would be a huge disappointment in the unlikely event that they actually don’t make it. Their problem has been lack of depth, which has lead to Westbrook still being extremely productive even with more talented players in the starting five. Westbrook’s 32.7% usage rate is sixth-best in the league and he’s coming off a season-high 37-point performance Wednesday against the Orlando Magic. Expect him to try and carry his squad to a win Friday.

Tomas Satoransky, WAS vs. DET
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $3,800

While Tim Frazier was expected to take over the bulk of the work when John Wall went down with an injury, it’s been Satoransky who stepped up to be the most productive point guard on the team. Satoransky has played at least 21 minutes in both of the last two games, averaging 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. Considering he won’t cost you much, take a chance that he continues to outproduce Frazier again Friday.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Jrue Holiday, NO at UTA
FanDuel = $6,600
DraftKings = $6,200

There was concern that the return of Rajon Rondo would deal a significant blow to Holiday’s value as he wouldn’t have the ball in his hands as much. While his assist totals have definitely taken a hit, his scoring has increased as he has scored at least 18 points in four of his last five games. The Pelicans play at the seventh-fastest pace (102.2) in the league, helping to create more scoring opportunities for Holiday. At this reasonable price, his offensive upside makes him someone to consider for your lineup.

Alec Burks, UTA vs. NO
FanDuel = $3,600
DraftKings = $3,600

Burks provided tremendous value Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers when he scored 28 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in 29 minutes. With Rodney Hood out with an ankle injury, Burks was needed to help carry their offense. With Hood’s status uncertain for Friday, Burks presents another opportunity to provide value. Even if Hood does manage to play, Burks should get enough minutes to be an option for your entry as he has logged at least 20 minutes in seven of his last eight games.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Otto Porter Jr., WAS vs. DET
FanDuel = $7,000
DraftKings = $6,500

The Wizards need Porter to provide offensive help with Wall out, but he put up a dud Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers when he scored only eight points. The good news is, he had 14 shot attempts in the game, so it was just a matter of being ice-cold from the field. He had scored at least 22 points in both of the previous two games, showing he is capable of providing the offense they need. This will be the second matchup between these two teams this season and Porter dominated in the first game, scoring 28 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block. Look for a rebound performance Friday.

Lance Stephenson, IND at TOR
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $4,500

Stephenson is finally starting to get consistent playing time as he has logged at least 22 minutes in six straight games. He has the ability to provide valuable all-around numbers as he is averaging 15.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists over his last four games. The Pacers play at the ninth-fastest pace (101) in the league, which fits well with Stephenson’s skillset. Considering his low floor relative to his price, Stephenson is worth considering again in this game.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

LaMarcus Aldridge, SA at MEM
FanDuel = $8,900
DraftKings = $8,500

Aldridge just faced the Grizzlies Wednesday and dominated the game with 41 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one block. He continues to lead with the way with Kawhi Leonard out as his 28.3% usage rate is by far the highest on the team. He hasn’t put up these types of numbers since he was the main man on the Portland Trail Blazers, but there is no reason to believe he can’t keep rolling with Leonard out again Friday.

Kelly Olynyk, MIA vs. CHA
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,400

The Heat will be without starting center Hassan Whiteside due to a knee injury for one-to-two weeks, dealing a major blow to their frontcourt. Olynyk is one of the players left to pick up the pieces, although his style of game is vastly different from that of Whiteside. Olynyk has only averaged 19 minutes a game this season, but he has still managed to average a respectable 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 three-pointers per contest. With the likelihood of added minutes Friday, Olynyk results in an excellent value play.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Dwight Howard, CHA at MIA
FanDuel = $7,900
DraftKings = $7,500

Howard is playing at his best right now as he is averaging 19.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his last six games. The move to Charlotte has done wonders for his career as his 25.1% usage rate is his highest since the 2011-12 season. With Whiteside out Friday, the Heat are going to have a hard time slowing down Howard. You don’t have to worry about his atrocious free-throw shooting in DFS, so get him in your lineup and enjoy the hefty double-double.

Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. CHA
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,100

Along with Olynyk, Adebayo should see increased minutes with Whiteside injured. He is likely better suited to defend Howard, so he could be in for big minutes. He played 30 minutes in the Heat’s last game Wednesday against the New York Knicks and finished with nine points, five rebounds, and two steals.  There is potential here as he posted a double-double earlier this season in a game where he played 31 minutes against the Timberwolves. If you want to take a chance on a cheap center in tournament play, give Adebayo a shot.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Dennis Schroder, ATL vs. NY
FanDuel = $7,400
DraftKings = $6,600

There are only five players in the NBA averaging at least 19 points and seven assists per game. They are James Harden, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, John Wall and Schroder. That’s some pretty elite company that Schroder is running with. The Hawks have very little talent on their roster, leaving Schroder to produce the 14th best usage rate (29.4%) in the NBA. The Knicks really struggle to defend opposing point guards, so Schroder could be in line for a huge performance Friday.

Antonio Blakeney, CHI at GS
FanDuel = $3,000
DraftKings = $3,000

As I’ve noted many times, you have to take risks if you want to win in tournament play. The Bulls continue to struggle to score, so they have turned to Blakeney to provide some scoring punch off the bench of late. Over the last five games, he is averaging 10.2 points and 1.0 three-pointer in 20 minutes per contest. The Warriors play at the fifth-fastest pace (104.4) in the NBA and could make this one a laugher earlier, leading to a lot of garbage time. He will only cost you the minimum on both sites, so he could provide value.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Tim Hardaway Jr., NY at ATL
FanDuel = $6,600
DraftKings = $6,600

Hardaway has not disappointed in what was expected to be his breakout campaign as he is averaging career-highs pretty much across the board. The Knicks are off to a surprising 10-7 start and a lot of that is because Hardaway and his 18.4 points per game have provided a great compliment to superstar Kristaps Porzingis. The Hawks are not a good defensive team as they are tied for the sixth-most points allowed per game (108.2) this season. This has the potential to be another great scoring night for Hardaway.

Dion Waiters, MIA at MIN
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,600

The Heat don’t have a ton of offensive firepower as they have scored the sixth-fewest points per game (100.5) in the league. Waiters has been one of their few bright spots, averaging 15.9 points per game. His 26.3% usage rate ranks 36th in the NBA, ahead of players including Paul George, C.J. McCollum, and Kevin Love. The Timberwolves have not played well defensively and have several excellent options offensively that the Heat will need to keep pace with, so Waiters could provide value at this price.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

LeBron James, CLE vs. CHA
FanDuel = $11,900
DraftKings = $11,200

James continues to get plenty of opportunities to produce as he is tied for the second-most minutes (37.7) per game this season. This has the potential to be an up-tempo contest as both the Cavaliers and the Hornets are in the top-12 in the NBA in terms of pace of play. It’s going to cost a pretty penny to get him into your entry, but his workload and rare skillset should make him worth it.

Courtney Lee, NY at ATL
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $4,600

Lee continues to see significant playing time as he is averaging 32 minutes per game in his second consecutive season with the Knicks. Not known as a potent offensive weapon, he is averaging 11.2 points per game, which is the fourth best on the team. He is also averaging career-highs in rebounds (4.1), assists (3.1), steals (1.5), and three-pointers (1.6) per game. With the Hawks defensive struggles already outlined earlier, Lee has the potential to outproduce his pricepoint Friday.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Anthony Davis, NO at PHO
FanDuel = $11,300
DraftKings = $10,700

Davis and DeMarcus Cousins have thrived together in New Orleans as they are the only teammates in the league to average at least 25 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. Despite playing a bigger lineup than most teams, the Pelicans actually play at the seventh-fastest pace (102.3) in the NBA. The only concern you should really ever have with playing Davis in DFS is his injury history as you can’t afford to lose a player early in a game at this price. With how horrible the Suns are on defense, get Davis in your lineup and just cross your fingers that he stays healthy.

Bobby Portis, CHI at GS
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $5,200

Portis came back from suspension and was hot to start the season, averaging 19.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 three-pointers over his first three games. He has cooled off considerably since, averaging 9.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 0.8 three-pointers in his last five games. Even with his recent slump, I like him Friday as the Warriors play a lot of small lineups. I wouldn’t be surprised if Portis plays close to, if not more, minutes than Robin Lopez. At the pace the Warriors play, Portis could be in for a big performance considering his reasonable price.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Hassan Whiteside, MIA at MIN
FanDuel = $8,800
DraftKings = $8,500

Let’s take a look at the last three performances by centers against the Timberwolves. Andre Drummond had 20 points, 16 rebounds, and two blocks Sunday, Dwight Howard had 25 points, 20 rebounds, and four blocks Monday, and Nikola Vucevic had 11 points, 14 rebounds, and one block Wednesday. While Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best offensive centers in the game, he clearly still has a lot of improving to do on the defensive end of the floor. Expect Whiteside to demolish the Timberwolves in this game.

Steven Adams, OKC vs. DET
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,200

The Thunder have one of the weakest benches in the league as their starting five is averaging 79.9 points per game while their second unit is only averaging 23.6 points per game. They are especially thin at center, which has forced Adams to average a career-high 31 minutes per contest. With Friday bringing a matchup against Andre Drummond, Adams is going to be needed to log heavy minutes again in this game. If you want to save money at center, look no further.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Kyle Lowry, TOR vs. NO
FanDuel = $7,500
DraftKings = $7,000

Lowry is off to a poor start this season, averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.9 three-pointers per game. He’s been ice cold from the field, shooting only 39.5% after shooting 46.4% last season. He’s showing signs of coming out of his slump, posting double-doubles in three of his last six games. One of the games where he didn’t was one where he was ejected in the second quarter. He has the ability to provide great overall stat lines when he’s on and the Raptors are going to need their guards to step up in this game while their frontcourt struggles with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. This could be a breakout game for Lowry.

Lonzo Ball, LAL at WAS
FanDuel = $6,500
Draft Kings = $6,000

If you play season-long fantasy basketball, Ball has hurt your squad as he’s shooting only 29.5% from the field and 53.8% on free-throws. However, you don’t have to worry about that in DFS. His counting stats have still been solid as he is averaging 8.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. He had a quality stat line against the Wizards earlier this season when he scored six points to go along with eight rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and one block. If his shot is falling, he could provide tremendous value Thursday. Even if it’s not, he is still worth playing at this price based on his overall production.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
James Harden, HOU vs. CLE
FanDuel = $11,200
DraftKings = $10,700

Harden has seen his numbers regress some this season even with Chris Paul out with an injury, but he’s still averaging a superb 29.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 4.2 three-pointers per game. He has improved his percentages though as he is shooting 46.4% from the field and 40.4% from behind the arc. Thursday brings a great matchup against a Cavaliers team that has really struggled defensively. You are going to have to pay up to get him, but he should be well worth the price.

Jordan Clarkson, LAL at WAS
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,400

When the Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball, it meant Clarkson would see a reduced role. His playing time has been limited to 21 minutes per game, eight fewer minutes per game than last season. However, his production has actually increased as he is averaging 15.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 three-pointers per game. He’s played even better lately as he is averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals over his last three games. Look for him to provide excellent value at this price Thursday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
LeBron James, CLE at HOU
FanDuel = $11,800
DraftKings = $10,800

With Kyrie Irving in Boston and Isaiah Thomas still injured, James has been required to carry more of the load offensively this season. Of course, he has not disappointed, averaging 28.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 9.1 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.5 three-pointers per game. The Cavaliers really struggle on defense, which is not good considering they are taking on the high scoring Rockets. James is going to need to provide plenty of scoring in this game, so get ready for some big numbers.

Brandon Ingram, LAL at WAS
FanDuel =$6,200
DraftKings = $5,900

Ingram struggled throughout his rookie season, but there were signs towards the end of the year that indicated he would improve in his second campaign. He has done just that, averaging 15.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He shot only 40.2% from the field last year but has rebounded to shoot 47.1% this season. Although he hasn’t expanded his range to behind the three-point line yet, his improved play gives him value at this price against the Wizards.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Anthony Davis, NO at TOR
FanDuel = $11,900
DraftKings = $11,000

Davis is healthy and is off to the best start of his career as he is currently averaging career highs in points (28.4), rebounds (12.8), assists (2.6) and three-pointers (1.2) per game. Add that to his normal stellar defensive stats and you get an elite DFS contributor. He has been relatively healthy and seems to have gelled well with Cousins as they have teamed to be the best power forward/center combo in the league. While you’ll have to pay up for his services, he usually doesn’t disappoint when healthy.

Julius Randle, LAL at WAS
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,800

Randle has been relegated to the bench this season and is only averaging 19 minutes per game, the lowest since his rookie season. Although he has seen a decrease in playing time, he’s still averaging a respectable 11.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. He hasn’t seen an increase in playing time with Larry Nance Jr. out with an injury, but he has averaged 12.6 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games with Nance sidelined. If you need to save money at power forward, Randle is a viable option even with his limited role.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks
Joel Embiid, PHI at SAC
FanDuel = $9,600
DraftKings = $8,000

Embiid hasn’t played since Friday as he sat out the Sixers’ last game Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. When he takes the floor, Embiid has provided elite stats as he’s averaging 20.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks in only 28 minutes per game. Really the only issue you can have with Embiid is that he’s averaging a whopping 4.4 turnovers per game. You’ll want to get him in your lineup Thursday against the Kings because while they have depth up front, they really struggle to defend opposing centers.

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. OKC
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $3,700

Plumlee has the unenviable position of being stuck behind one of the best centers in the league in Nikola Jokic. As a result, he’s averaging a career-low 16 minutes per game. Despite the limited minutes, he’s been able to average 6.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. If you are looking to load up your entry with elite talent, Plumlee is a cheap play you may want to consider to make that possible. If the game happens to get out of hand, he may even get a chance to play a few extra minutes. Considering the Thunder’s lack of depth up front, Plumlee has value in tournament play.

Point Guard

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Lineuplab.com - Jrue Holiday is on anything but a holiday.

Jrue Holiday
FD $7,300 DK $6,200

Anthony Davis is currently listed as questionable, but it doesn’t look good. For the sake of this article, we’ll assume he’s out. With just 5 games on the board, we have to take huge advantage of this situation. Holiday should be 2nd behind Cousins in terms of who benefits most here. Holiday moves over to PG with the Rondo injury and has been consistent. He’ll now see an extra 5-10 shots and have his minutes locked in over 35 as long as it stays close. The price is still fair on both sites and he’ll be hard to stay away from in cash games. The match-up with George Hill and De’Aaron Fox is average. Holiday is an elite cash game play and a very solid GPP play on a slate that doesn’t do much at PG.

Malcolm Delaney
FD $4,800 DK $4,400

The only easy choice for me at PG is Malcolm Delaney. With Dennis Schroder already ruled out, he is locked into 32+  minutes. With just 5 games on the slate, we don’t have any value this good. At least not yet (written the night before). If no value opens up as the day progresses, Delaney will be highly owned. There are a lot of studs, who we’ll get to, that force you to pay down elsewhere. That elsewhere could very well be PG. The matchup with Chicago is a lot better than Miami, but not great. They play at an average pace and have a solid paint defender in Robin Lopez. Still, this is a pure opportunity play. Delaney is in the $4k’s on both sites and a lock to hit value if he sees the minutes. The upside for 35 FP and a must in tournaments is quite possible.

Shooting Guard

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Lineuplab.com - CJ McCollum dribbles like no other
C.J. McCollum
FD $7,700 DK $7,300

This game between the Blazers and Clippers currently holds the highest O/U on the night at 212. On the Blazers side, it’s McCollum and Lillard who do most of the coring. With Pat Beverley on Lillard, let’s move to McCollum. C.J. will see a combo of Austin Rivers and Lou Williams, who are both pretty bad at defense in general. He will easily get his shot against either of those guys and it should lead to them finding someone else, but I’m not sure who. Beverley will be plenty busy with Lillard, so they might just have to take the McCollum blows. He is fairly priced on both sites and makes for an excellent play in both formats. This is a game I want a lot of exposure to with a 212/-2, so McCollum does that at a cheaper price than Lillard or Blake Griffin, while still having similar upside. The Clippers will struggle to guard SG’s this season and McCollum will look to take advantage tonight.

Buddy Hield
FD $5,100 DK $5,000

Hield saw just 16 minutes of work last game but put up 30 fantasy points. It makes no sense. As for the 16 minutes, 3 starts saw it. I guess it was punishment. They should be right back out there for this one and see the typical 30-35 minutes a starter sees. He finally hit his groove last game and could be in for a nice stretch. if you remember correctly, Hield was about $6500 for a while last year and getting plenty of interest and putting up 30 fantasy points on a regular basis. He will definitely get back to that this year once he can get it going. This match-up with the Pelicans is very nice. E’Twaun Moore is a pitiful defender and I have no idea why he has a starting gig in the NBA. He’s much worse than even Troy Daniels, who’s at least elite at shooting the 3. Anyways, Hield will see a cupcake match-up that should remain very close throughout. He’s a lock for 20 fantasy points with the upside for 45.

Small Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Lineuplab.com - Giannis Ant shoves defenders to the side

Giannis Antetokounmpo
FD $12,400 DK $12,000

Giannis is in too good of a spot to ignore. While there are some stars that we’ve yet to touch on,  Gianni’s is right with them at the top of the list. He sees the same Celtics team he saw on opening night and dominated for 37 points and  13 rebounds. They struggled to cover him that night and will struggle just as much here. Expect Jaylen Brown to get most of the minutes on Giannis, but he won’t have much success. He has held 60 fantasy points in each of his first 4 starts while also maintaining a + (+/-) in every game. You can expect Antetokounmpo to have another 60 FP night. It just comes down to the price. He is going to make you sacrifice a lot and it could bite you in the ass. Or not. With the other guys we’ll touch on, they aren’t AS expensive, so they don’t force you into such a corner. With that being said, if you have the space for Giannis, play him without hesitation.

Dante Cunningham
FD $3,500 DK $3,300

This is 100% contingent on Anthony Davis being ruled out. Cunningham will see close to 35 minutes at the 3 and 4 if Davis is out, and while he won’t be a focus of the offense, he gets involved more than enough. When AD is on the court, he’ll just sit in the corner. With AD off, he will try to get down low and make things happen. Sitting at the minimum price, there’s really no discussion to be had. With the studs on this slate, you need value and there isn’t much of it. If Davis is ruled out, go ahead and play Cunningham for the guaranteed value in all formats.

Power Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Lineuplab.com - Blake Griffin dunks on the Miami Heat

Blake Griffin
FD $9,800 DK $9,500

Here’s one of my two favorite superstars. As you can see, he’s nearly $2k cheaper than Antetokoumpo, letting you pay up at another position or two. This game, as mentioned, holds the highest over/under on the slate at 212. The Blazers are also just favored by 2, so Vegas expects it to stay close throughout. The Blazers have Aminu and Caleb Swanigan at PF, which is kind of sad. Aminu is fine against smaller PF’s, but holds no chance against a literal monster in Blake Griffin.  This is his offense to run and he does what he sees fit. Against a Blazers team that should double him every time, my guess will be a spread out, stat-stuffing night. If the Blazers try to let Aminu take care of Griffin alone, well, no bueno. Griffin is easily my favorite PF on the board and there’s no discussion to be had as long as AD remains out. It’s an absolutely brutal position, so I’m guessing the ownership will be relatively high.

Zach Randolph
FD $4,500 DK $4,900

Zach Randolph has definitely fallen quite a bit from the guy he was in Memphis a couple years ago. I actually don’t think his skill is much different. I just don’t think his style of play is very effective in today’s NBA. It’s tough to center your offense around a back-to-the-basket PF who grinds out 15 seconds of shot clock every time. You throw Z-Bo back in the 90’s and we discuss him as one of the greatest forwards of all time. As for tonight, he looks at a solid match-up against the presumed short-handed Pelicans frontcourt. Cousins will be focused on Nukic, which will leave Cunningham and Diallo on Randolph. Diallo should have more success, but Cunnigham will get more minutes. Randolph was one of the other starts to see under 20 minutes for punishment, so expect that to go back up tonight and make him a viable option in all formats.

Center

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Lineuplab.com - DeMarcus Cousins & Anthony Davis hug it out

DeMarcus Cousins
FD $11,800 DK $11,500

My favorite play of the night is DeMarcus Cousins. Remember, this is all with the contingency of Anthony Davis sitting out. If he plays, the slate is a mess and I’ll be moving a lot of my Cousins over to Griffin and Antetokounmpo. If AD misses like we think, this is Cousins’ game. He’s facing off with his old Kings that he absolutely hates. HATES. He dominated them last year and I don’t take Cousins as the guy to let things go. Hey, maybe I’m wrong, lol. Expect Cousins to go out there and try to score a million points. He will likely have a good amount of turnovers without AD on the floor, but he’ll more than outweigh them with points, rebounds, and assists. The Kings will likely toss WCS at Cousins for the most part. He can rebound with Cousins, but is way too skinny to deal with him in the post. Play Boogie.

Jusuf Nurkic
FD $7,500 DK $6,200

On the other side, we have Jusuf Nurkic. Cousins is a solid defender, but I don’t think that will be the focus tonight. Nurkic has struggled to start the season, but if you watched last game, you get it. He is a guy they involve like crazy on offense. He was cruising last time out until he had 2 phantom fouls in 2 minutes. it put him on the bench for the rest of the half and turned what would have been a good game into absolute garbage. He should be back out there tonight for another chance at a big night. Again, Lillard doe shave Pat Bev on him, which could funnel some offense away. Nurkic is willing to shoot and wants to show what he does for an offense. He has the upside to be just like Nikola Jokic production-wise but has to maintain some level of consistency to get there. As for tonight, he’s a clear 2nd to the Boogieman. Good luck!!!

Point Guard

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - D'Angelo Russell - Los Angeles Lakers

D’Angelo Russell
FD $7,800 DK $7,800

We expected D’Angelo to play like he has, but the absence of Jeremy Lin has only helped. He now has the ball in his hands for every minute he’s on the court and is already showing his per minute effectiveness. The Nets and Magic will face off for the 2nd time in a week, after these 2 teams combined for 247 points on the 20th. Russell ended up with 34 fantasy points in just 25 minutes of work. He should be back up to the 35-ish minute total here and see a similar FP per min, putting him well over 40. The Magic are without Elfrid Payton, who’s a pretty good defender. Especially compared to D.J. Augustin and Evan Fournier, who will take turns on Russell. Point guard may be pretty deep, but Russell is both safe and has upside in a match-up featuring a 229 over/under. You’ll need exposure to this game and Russell is the safest way to do it on the Nets.

Jrue Holiday
FD $6,900 DK $6,500

With Rajon Rondo out for the first few weeks, Jrue Holiday will step back into his PG role for the time being. He’s been a point guard his entire career, so it’s not much of a change. The switch to SG might take a few weeks, but there’s nothing to worry about with him at the 1. He’s been consistent to start the season, but hasn’t exploded yet. Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are getting all the shots, and rightfully so. Holiday does have an excellent match-up with Damian Lillard, however, so he should try to get it going on offense a bit. This affair between the Blazers and Pelicans should be close, high-scoring and full of fantasy goodness. Don’t shy away from the guards or big men.

Shooting Guard

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - TrailBlazers - Lineuplab.com

C.J. McCollum
FD $7,800 DK $7,100

We’ll stay in Portland and take a look at the backcourt mate of Damian Lillard. McCollum missed the first game of the year, but returned with no hiccup. He’s been over 26 real-life points in each of the first 2 contests and has contributed plenty of peripherals.  This match-up with the Pelicans is prime and I’m not sure who plans on covering him. E’Twaun Moore is starting at SG, but he’s just nowhere near good enough to cover McCollum. The Pelicans allowed the 4th most FP’s to guards in 2016 and have similar guys manning the spots. McCollum is going to shoot at least 15-20 times and if he’s hot, value is no problem. His price is fair across the industry and with SG being pretty weak, he should be popular. He’s a fair play in both cash games and tournaments.

Tim Hardaway Jr.
FD $4,700 DK $5,000

Looking at the box scores, you probably don’t have interest in Tim Hardaway Jr. If you’re looking at what you should be, you probably love him. He shot 16 times last game and dropped just 4 buckets. He shot closer to 50% in 2016 and is a very good shooter in general. His numbers will certainly go up and I don’t think the general public will be on him. The Boston Celtics play fast and don’t love defense. They don’t guard the paint and are extremely susceptible to SG’s (If Marcus Smart is out). Hardaway is way too cheap on both sites and if he has a typical game, it will be around 25 fantasy points. If he gets hot, it can get to 40. He hit 40 fantasy points 3 times in the last month of 2016. Don’t be short-sighted and ignore him because of a couple rough shooting nights.

Small Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler
FD $8,300 DK $7,000

On DraftKings, go ahead and plug Jimmy Butler into your cash games. I know he hasn’t been amazing, but that is going to 1000% change. He is getting used to playing with these guys and will be putting up 50 burgers in no time. Thibs is giving him the 38 minutes a game we expected and I’m willing to put my head on the line that production is coming soon. The Pacers are the 3rd fastest team in the last 2 years and it’s why a slow team like the Wolves is in a 217 over/under. Butler has had 3 tough match-ups so far and now sees a Pacers team who has no true SF. Lance Stephenson and Bojan Bogdanovich will see the 48 minutes there and neither can guard Jimmy. Wiggins also has a pretty tough match-up with Oladipo, so the ball should get funneled towards Butler on the perimeter. He’s the safest option in SF for his price and he’ll  be locked into my cash games.

Evan Fournier
FD $7,000 DK $6,1oo

Fournier has exceeded expectations so far, which has led to his price going up just a little bit. On FanDuel, you don’t have to get exposure outside of tournaments. He can still smash value, but there are some better values. On DK, however, $6,100 is perfect. Fournier has been phenomenal to start the season and without Elfrid Payton on the court, he is doing whatever he wants. He now sees the same Nets team that he put 44 fantasy points up on less than a week ago. He also saw just 25 minutes last game, so he’s fully rested and ready to go once again. With a 229 over/under and some injuries to take advantage of, this is a game I want a lot of cash game exposure to. Fournier gives you a 30 point floor with a 50 point ceiling, as long as Payton remains out.

Power Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Anthony Davis - Pelicans

Anthony Davis
FD $12,200 DK $10,900

Alright, this is getting fun. Watching Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins play next to each other is fun. There is no other team I can put my eye on when they are playing. Tonight, the Pelicans take on the Blazers and their non-existent interior. I guess the only guy you can give some credence to is Jusuf Nurkic, who at least has some size. He’ll be on DeMarcus Cousins, so that leaves Aminu and Swanigan to cover Anthony Davis. Nope. No shot. Good luck. This, in my opinion, turns into a shootout between Lillard/McCollum and Cousins/Davis. If you’re looking for a game to stack, this is as good of a candidate as any. Because they all are so expensive, Cousins is the 1 of the 4 I would fade. There are plenty of other options at center. Anthony Davis is my favorite superstar of the night and I’m not sure how close it is. The Blazers allowed over 60 FP per game to Davis in 2016 and he looks like he’s turned the leaf that will hand him the MVP trophy this season. As for tonight, I’ll do whatever I can to get the Brow in 100% of my lineups.

Kristaps Porzingis
FD $9,300 DK $8,500

Talking about turning over a leaf, here’s Kristaps Porzingis. I don’t know if Porzingis is much better or if it’s because Melo is gone, but Porzingis is playing phenomenal. He has 46 and 47 fantasy points in each of the first 2 games and sees his best match-up yet against the Celtics. The Celtics are tossing Jaylen Tatum at PF, who has quite the disadvantage against Kristaps. They also have Horford at C, who’s a pitiful rebounder and worse defender. His price is yet to get too high and I want to take advantage against one of the best match-ups possible. Power Forward is pretty deep, so let’s take a look at another guy a bit cheaper.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
FD $6,200 DK $5,200

It was either Trevor Booker or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson here. With Aaron Gordon looking like he will return, I expect the Nets to match his athleticism with that of Hollis-Jefferson. RHJ has been damn good to start the year when given opportunity and he’s actually taking initiative on a Nets team that needs some. I’ve said it enough, but this game is sitting at a 229 total, so we’ll be all over it. RHJ is a concrete solid value play that will let you pay up for guys like Davis while still holding some upside. He’s a lot better priced on DraftKings, so I may just find a way to pay up completely on FanDuel if no value emerges. All in all, power forward is a spot where you may need to hit the nuts in tournaments.

Center

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Orlando Magic - Lineup Lab

Nikola Vucevic
FD $9,800 DK $8,300

We’ve looked this game up and down, so let’s top it off with the whipped cream, cherry, and fudge. Vucevic has been disgusting this year and it looks like this is finally a team he’s locked down as his. He gets a touch on almost every possession and sees the best match-up possible. The Nets don’t really have a center, but they throw Timofey Mozgov and Jarrett Allen there for the bulk of the game. If you were able to watch Vucevic face these guys a couple of days ago, you’ve already plugged him into your lineup. It was utter domination on every possession and the game had a total 15 fewer than tonight. There are a lot of solid high-priced options tonight, so it’ll be tough to choose who you want to lead your squad. However, if you go with Vuc, there’s a good shot you’ll be in the mix. He, like a few other guys, see a much friendlier tag on DraftKings. He’ll be tough to fade there.

Jusuf Nurkic
FD $7,900 DK $6,800

Both of the centers in this game are in play, but Nurkic is cheaper and we already looked at Vuc on top. Nurkic finally got things going last game with 41 fantasy points in 31 minutes. That’s what we expect. He should see closer to 40 minutes tonight to match the Pelicans size and he should put up at least 30 with a 70 ceiling. Ya, I know that sounds crazy, but he did it twice last year and didn’t look like he was having a fluke game either. Cousins is not a good defender and the Pelicans ranked 8th worst against centers in 2016. Lillard and McCollum should take most of the responsibility here, but they have no chance of winning unless Nurkic has a big game. He’s very fairly priced on both sites and you can play him in all formats. There are 2 big games we like to target tonight and as long as they stay close, things should turn out. Good luck!!!
